Ported out - no more creative deductions

Damn. I just ported out from hotlink to xpax because I lost rm15 in 2 days despite multiple calls to customer service to terminate whatever 3rd party shit was activated on my number. Refund request was also rejected as they claimed I was the one who subscribed via SMS to 33300.

Hoping xpax will not kelentong..

Currently, there is only one  and only telco that blocks 3rd party scam premium content from getting to your credit.

Hotlink is better! no such scams! Digi yes a lot especially prepaid!

I beg to differ. The 2 days after Christmas was a disaster for me. Noticed a deduction of RM2 from my hotlink credit, called 123 and the rep said so sorry will cancel my third party subscription. A few hours later, my credit was deducted again (RM8). Called 123 again, another rep said so sorry will cancel my third party service. Next day kena deduct another RM5.

Logged in to Ask Hotlink on FB to escalate the issue. I explained that 2 call to 123 only resulted in more credit deductions. Finally the stupid expensive sms shit was stopped by CS. I asked again about my lost RM15, rep replied so sorry can't do that as system showed that I actually signed up for this 33300 service (some bloody company called MexComm). I asked for report number so that I can lodge a complaint with MCMC and since then CS has been quiet.

On 28th Dec, I MNP to xpax.

Hi Friends,
Anyone mind to share the experience with Celcom prepaid ?
is the signal coverage and data plan reliable ?

I'm plan to switch maxis to celcom but is it recommended to do so? there is very weak 4G signal in Ipoh, Digi is ok, but i heard Digi is doesn't have good coverage on signal ..so asking opinion on Celcom

Thank din advance !
*
Not sure about Ipoh. I am in Penang island.

Moved from Hotlink to Xpax 2+ weeks back. So far, I experience these:

1. I see my phone on 3G more often on Xpax
2. Xpax 4G feels slower than Hotlink 4G (maybe 50-70% of the speed)
3. It takes a bit more time for music/video streaming to start, on Xpax 4G.

I have another phone with a Maxis postpaid line (company-supplied) which comes with 20GB+20GB data per month plus unlimited local calls and sms so my personal phone is just for receiving calls and light data usage (i.e. personal gmail, fb, twitter, reddit etc).

I changed to xpax for 3 reasons:

1. Experienced total network down for Maxis/Hotlink twice last year - I now want a backup line from another telco, just in case.

2. Recently lost RM15 Hotlink credit within 2 days due to some shit SMS service/scam which I never signed up for. After 3 complaints to Hotlink CS, they finally turned this 'value-add' crap off but refused to refund me the money. So it's bye bye Hotlink.

3. Can't consider umobile (zero/weak 4G in my area). It was either digi prepaid or xpax so I chose 1.

You should only hear other user's experience for coverage and stability. Also, test on your own by testing on a prepaid sim card. User experience may vary for each people.

100% agree! Self test is best test biggrin.gif

Really? I was informed that by cs officer when I made a call. Seem they dont even understand their plans. I never buy internet plan since i upgrade to new xpax plan to test which data is used first. This is the problem when celcom outsource their cs call center. They dont know the exact info.
*
The FAQ states that the FB addon quota will be used first.

What is the data usage priority rank for all internet?

1.Freebies
2. Add On
3. Internet Plan
4. Free Basic
5. Pay per use
EDIT - Oh wait, I'm not sure if the 10GB FB thing is a freebie, or an add-on. Still should be used up first before FB eats into our normal internet/data plan. In theory..

if u r using the data for fb, the data will consumed on ur free fb 10gb 1st. unless u r using the external link such youtube, cnn, bbc etc on ur fb then it will consume your Internet Plan data.
*
That's what I thought too. I just checked my data balance.

Been on Xpax for about 2+ weeks, with 5GB data plan (RM30 monthly pass).

1. Internet plan = 4.03GB balance
2. Free Basic Internet = 10.00GB balance
3. Free Facebook = 10.00GB balance

Will try to access FB more and check again tonight.

then it means it uses your 5gb monthly data 1st since your fb quota is still full - 10gb.

I don't know for sure, need to create more FB traffic later after work.

I hardly ever browse FB, to be honest.

Just spent 1 hour watching Facebook videos on 4G. Yep I can see 500mb used up from my free FB quota and only 10mb or so from my normal quota.

I ported out from Hotlink to Xpax due to this. So I am monitoring my number under Xpax now.

*
My RM30 Xpax data package is bundled with another 10GB FB quota which should include FB videos on top of 5GB high speed quota.

Yonder was sh1t anyway, to me. Poor quality audio and crap UI, no wonder it was free.

Had to sign up for Spotify Premium to listen to music fit for human ears.. mad.gif

Bro, mind to share what's the concern you got from celcom line, i'm maxis user and thinking to move to celcom prepaid
*
Depends on your location. I am in Penang island.

My postpaid line is Maxis - super fast 4G nearly everywhere. My wife is still on Hotlink - fast 4G but less speed than postpaid, I feel.

My Xpax line is slower than both but not too bad as coverage is just as good as Maxis here.

My pleasure. I like maxis too for their good network speed and coverage but I need a backup line just in case and Xpax was cheaper and almost as good. Someone told me before that good is no cheap and cheap is no good and it's true for me wink.gif

Kena before a couple of times when both maxis and Hotlink network down. Xpax saved the day ha ha.

Any of you guys using yonder music? I'm a heavy user of Spotify, which cost me RM 15 per month. I'm thinking, if yonder is comparable to Spotify, then I would be better off using Celcom First Gold. Since yonder is free for celcom user and it won't deduct our Internet quota.
*
I would say yonder is good for something that is free.

The audio quality, app UI and user experience are way inferior to Spotify. I went back to Spotify Premium after 2 months.
