Sup guys. New user here. 64GB Mocha Gold (or brown? i dunno). Traded in with my dead G4. Bought at Greenfone yesterday. Feels really solid and huge. Still tinkering with it.

As a newcomer in using China phone, just after 1 day i think it's not bad. Lots of actually useful built in apps as well.


I'm using tempered also. The curved side is pretty cool though. Makes the bezel even slimmer. But eh i trust gorilla glass and never used any protector for my previous phones. Not a scratch.

My stock flip cover got some weird lines. Not sure why. It also really adds to the bulk. But will probably use til hancur haha...

Gah too bad. I quite like since i never had a flip cover. But really leceh when i want to use the phone.

Really? I read on XDA it works but cannot kacau the phone as in using while charging. I should try to use the ori charger and compare...

I have one. Will try to charge from 1 digit percentage tonight using the ori cable. Since i got the phone on Monday haven't got the chance to charge from almost flat battery.

The HDR does work. Just that it's rather subtle. Overall, i think the picture seems flat but easy to fix in PP or tweak the camera options. But the details at 100% is definitely less than my dead G4. Maybe because of the software or the slightly smaller sensor.

I rarely game but yesterday I played Future Fight for 1 hour straight at home to drain the battery from 20 to 4%. Phone is not even warm lol.

Just discovered the calendar have a built in Islamic Calendar sync and Malaysia Holiday in Malay lol. I usually use Google Holidays In Malaysia.


After 5 days i'm still amazed at the ridiculous battery life.


And so i used the stock charger. It is indeed capable of around 2.5 hours to full charge. No idea how Anandtech got 80% in an hour as i only get around 60%. The power delivery seems pretty spiky too but surprisingly close to 3A at the beginning.

I use 3C Toolbox Pro bro.

Mine also tarak Dead Trigger 2 LOL. Not a big deal for me though. I don't like zombie games anyway. Baik main Future Fight.

After a week, for me it's a spectacular phone. The battery life is nothing short but amazing. Even after gaming for an hour the phone is barely warm which is unbelievable. Once you get used to the size and UI it's actually not bad at all. For me the only drawback for the Mate 8 camera is no Auto HDR. You have to do it manually. But the exposure is pretty spot on anyway and i like that i can touch to expose for that particular spot. No such thing on the G4. I actually find the speaker bassier than the G4 but once you go full volume it distorts a lot. The sweet spot for me is around 60% volume which is already quite loud and minimal distortion.

For the P9/+, keep in mind that they don't have OIS. Also, the Kirin 955 is just a higher clocked Kirin 950.

I can only compare with G4 lol. The Mate 8 camera is slightly worse in some way but better in another. If i were DXO Mark i'd give it a 78 points haha... Eh good enough lah for fb or flickr web sharing. It's not like i'm printing a billboard picture. Get a 100MP Hasselblad for that.

Haha i played Evil Bane yesterday like crazy. Mostly on Auto Play since at office lol. Still i played for like 5+ hours yesterday. I'm sure it can go for like 6 hours straight from 100% to 3%. Frame rate pretty consistent, only occasional frame drop probably because of background syncing and the phone is just slightly warm, not hot at all.

Might as well go for DSLR or Mirrorless for pro shot LOL. The Mate 8 has a 1/2.8" sensor, S7 1/2.6", HTC 10 1/2.3". You know who's the winner? 2010 Nokia N8 with 1/1.83" sensor LOL.

My point is, we're just viewing the pics at a resolution of around 1920x1080 on our PC or phone. Unless you have a 4K display or for some reason want to do large prints with photos taken from your phone, or you masturbate while pixel peeping at 100% zoom, then the Mate 8 is good enough.

Also, i find it odd that when i use my spare charger at the office which is a LG G2 charger with max 1.8A current, it can actually charge at 1.8A. But when i use my Aukey charger at home, it's stuck at 1A.

You guys know any 3rd party charger & powerbank that can quick charge our phone? Really bizarre that it can't work even though the voltage & ampere is the same.

And i wish we have quick charge like that new Leagoo phone LOL. 9V x 3A = 27W. Even beat Oppo 5V x 4A. Freaking insane. Won't the 6300mAh battery explode since it's charging too fast???

Yeah already read it. Kind of a waste of hardware that I already have. Well not wasted just slow charging. Decent SOT as in compared to normal use lol. That was hardcore gaming.

Yeah I was surprised too. The camera is not as good as the G4. It also shoots in 16MP at 4:3 instead of 16:9 like the G4 which I prefer. It's good enough for social media sharing but it's definitely not the best out there.

Yep. I bought the G4 from them too and their warranty covered motherboard as well. My set is AP though.
