reviews in newspaper and youtube always biased and sponsored....I've never trust into those...
better ask uncle benny or other ppl here as they can tell you what it's like in real life usage... and I mean real...

for example... antutu benchmark.... higher points = better
but I've compare it to few brand that have way higher points than mate 8 but much worse in performance....
not that I assume mate 8 is perfect....
it does have cons as average speaker, average screen resolution,average camera... but it's still depends on personal perspective...
to me, camera,screen is very satisfying for me although speaker do perform a bit low 'mono' than my expectations...
what I hope is getting an update for emui 4.1 via ota ASAP!

speaker quite loud but a bit distorted when in max volume...

as for camera.... not mediocre.....depends on your standard ...
not a big fan of selfies or snapping but I still amazed by it...
not much of a difference with note 5 except for slower focus and low light pic..... go give it a try at Huawei store and u'll get what I mean....it's a worthy buy model...

haven't encounter lag nor bug at all....
the best in this phone is battery optimization
and I do agree with uncle benny... by far the coolest phone and I mean temperature.. no matter what you using it for except u using it as gps
