as for the raise to answer....
don't raise too quick.... or maybe ur sensor buggy?
at 1st I tot my sensor was buggy cause when I call via Wechat...
the screen doesn't goes black when I raise to my ear... at last the update come and I know it's phone bug not sensor bug..

1st u say ur set comes preinstalled glass sp...which none here encounter before ..
2nd u SS the pic.. and to me it looks like the ori normal sp...
3rd and now you say the sp is gorilla glass? AFAIK gorilla glass sp haven't available for mate 8 yet..

not having problems with ringtone....although I got similar problem when opening certain games like clash of clans.... sometimes low volume and high... but not affecting ringtone volume though...

android system got few choices... either press volume up /down button with power button then release it after the logo comes out ...
in mate 8... volume up +power button until logo comes out ...then select with volume and enter with power button .....
not necessarily to do it unless ur phone got something wrong...or started lagging...
