You can't have it all i guess. sweat.gif I think many already said that the camera is neither here or there. Not the best but not absolutely horrible either. For me, it looks pretty nice when i use HDR and put saturation to +1.

If you don't mind a bigger phone why not? icon_rolleyes.gif

For me the screen is very sensitive especially on the side. Maybe because i'm using tempered glass protector. So when holding the side need to be careful. Else it will register as a touch and any other touch you're making won't respond.

So no one is not bothered by this? Having a folder is useless if have too many apps in it. Better put on the home screen for easier find any app.
*
A bit but kinda got used to it. I use 5 folders and i hide certain apps. So each folder is just 2-3 pages.

That 2-3 pages per folder is quite a pain to search.  laugh.gif
At least for me as I own others android phone that have no problem show more than 3x3 on default themer.
Priv shows 4x4, S7E is vertical scroll, Robin only shows 4x4 (cannot add more) and my jb iphone shows 5x7.

So using 3x3 is really awkward for me. Seems there is no dev that can tweak this  hmm.gif
Using 3rd party themer is not an option as I don't want it to sucks my battery juice further
*

Just search using the swipe down feature? icon_idea.gif For me i'd like the homescreen grid to be 5x6 or more haha but yeah more apps in a page would be nice too. Not sure if custom ROM like KangVIP have it. Want to try it out but too lazy to root.

In the meantime it seems that we are very behind in terms of update. B331 just came out in China and KangVIP already updated. sweat.gif

The changelog (in funny google translate english):

*

Smart is good enough. Performance only for gaming or benchmark. I never bother to change.

Let me also give some comparison between pro mode and normal auto mode. The darker one was captured using normal mode. The brighter one was using pro mode to snap it.

Normal auto mode

Pro mode

What's the setting on pro mode.... the difference is incredible
*
I just use normal mode. Coincidentally had a shot from yesterday. The camera was exposing for the sky. The people are so dark even in HDR mode. So i focused on the people and adjust the exposure up. Sky gone but i want to see the people.

So i heard you like HDR so i HDR the HDR pic in Snapseed HDR Scape. biggrin.gif Looks quite alright.

Adui still talking about the camera? sweat.gif Everybody's expectation and usage is different i guess. I don't shoot fast moving object or in the dark. I know very much the camera limitation so most of my shots are in bright light. IMO the hardware is good, it's just the processing that is holding it back. Kinda funny nobody is talking about the front camera. laugh.gif

This article really made my point clear.
QUOTE
All this exercise does, is tell you that if all you want to do is post photos online, then just about any camera will suffice.

To paraphrase, anybody who asks what camera you took a photo with probably doesn’t understand photography.

All that matters is the strength of the photo – did you capture an interesting subject? Is the composition strong? Is the lighting beautiful? Does your photo move people, inspire emotion? None of this has anything to do with the camera, and everything to do with the photographer.

So, why do we have this endless discussion about cameras? Well, for most of us photography is a hobby and discussing gear and lenses is all part of the fun.

Mmmm... don't really feel advantage on rooted phone anymore... thinking unroot and lock bootloader for Astro OTG...

what do you do with root these days?
*
I'm thinking of rooting for adblocking but afraid some apps might not work. Unlocking bootloader only clears up the internal storage right? Also, can you apply manual update if the bootloader is unlocked?

You still can update manually with the full update file but you will lose root capability. to re-root, TWRP will need to access to internal storage which is encrypted every time update the software.
a lil troublesome unless you flash with the following boot img

http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/ori...ot-img-t3311306
*

So after each manual update, you have to reflash the decrypted boot img? Or can just simply re-root by flashing supersu in TWRP again? I'm a bit confused.

After update from B180 -> B320(+B320), my internal storage is encrypted and to decrypt, I have to wipe my internal storage which I refuse to.

Now I'm left hanging half way... I have TWRP... but i'm not rooted... You can't even flash super-su in because TWRP couldn't read internal storage.
*

Ah ok. So tedious. If you have to decrypt the storage every update, then what's the point of the decrypted boot img? Is it because you lost root if you reboot?

Uh... those usage kind of make sense. GPS use a whole lot of power. And your screen is obviously on for that 1 hour. Speaker obviously use more power compared to earphones too. I don't complain when i play games a lot and only got 5-6 hours SOT. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
