Actually its not advisable to learn tagging now because it is not really an effective way to kill anymore. Unless, its a really desperate situation.

The reduced distance means you need to get closer to tag and therefore, harder to run away. Effectively, it is more like a suicide mission already which doesn't give your team much advantage.

If you are practicing shooting at the legs, might as well try to go for the head. Since you are practicing anyways. Headshots > legshots

But shooting at the legs is obviously easier, and you do quite a fair bit of damage as well.
