Eh guys, my manager got this Compaq Presario V3307TU notebook (Intel Core Duo + 1.5GB RAM + Windows XP Pro SP2) and after install all the necessary drivers to Windows, I still can see some of the stuff that is missing in Device Manager but has no idea at all what is the hardware about.

And why is the Intel GMA 950 Video show 32MB only in the Display Properties? But in the BIOS it show 128MB? What is wrong? Or is it automatic/dynamically adjust by Windows?

Any pro can help? icon_question.gif

I bought my V3514TU last few days with 2GB RAM Kingston + Windows Vista Business for RM3980 (Not sure is expensive or not).

Aero interface runs nicely on it and the Windows Experience Index is 3.4 only. I think a bit low rite?

And my WoW can achieved up to 40 fps sometimes and sometimes it drops to 20 fps (depends on the area).

Everything running smoothly so far... But I just don't understand why Windows Vista takes up 50% of the RAM all the time.

I run Windows Experience Index in my V3514TU and my sis V3252 the results are:

-----------------
V3514TU - 3.5
-----------------
- Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz
- Intel GMA X3100
- 2GB RAM (Kingston)
- Windows Vista Business

-----------------
V3252AU - 3.0
-----------------
- AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz
- nVIDIA GeForce Go 6150
- 2GB RAM (Corsair)
- Windows Vista Home Premium

Santa Rosa platform with integrated graphics only increase 0.5. But price different is about RM1,000.00. shakehead.gif doh.gif

I personally think that the new Santa Rosa + Intel GMA X3100 perform better than the AMD + nVidia. Coz when I use Flip 3D in my sister V3252 (AMD Turion 64 x2 + nVidia 6150) it doesnt runs so smooth compared to my V3514 (Intel C2D2 + Intel GMA X3100). And the Windows Experience Index in V3252 is only at 3.0 points, while V3514 is at 3.4 points.

I also agree with u guys that WEI is not an accurate way to measure the performance coz it just take the lowest avg points.

However Intel GMA X3100 still outperformed nVIDIA Geforce Go 6150.

But I also believe that Intel GMA X3100 still cannot catered for current games I guess. My WoW framerate varies from 20fps to 40fps but in the desktop it can achieve to 60fps constantly.

We can compare the series of notebook GC here:

WEI..is nonsense engineered to drink ur money...I got a friend spec is quite high and only get 6 for WEI
*
Hmmm... ur friend can get 6.0 in WEI? I thought 5.9 is max for now and it won't go beyond that. Correct me if I am wrong... tongue.gif

WEI I think it is just a marketing tools to fool computer noobs to upgrade new hardware and make more money.

Anyone here know where to get that HP xb3000 Expansion Base?? And how much does it cost anyway? hmm.gif

Hmm but I saw in Microsoft site it stated max is 5.9. Unless Microsoft release an update for new hardware. Or that guy Photoshop it? Hehe.

Pre-order? Then I gotto call em to check how much.

Hi , new Compaq v3252 user here tongue.gif

Going to install Ubuntu as the main OS and maybe dual boot with Vista , is the Gf6150 powerful enough for Vista ? tongue.gif
My sis is using Vista on her V3252. So far no complain from her. Ubuntu nice to use? I installed on my V3514 running on virtual machine but after 2 days I get fed-up with it. Hehehe...

hi u using XP ? im using vista~  and i went to the HP site DL those driver lor~  but still got one don know what is that lo....

I also has this problem for my Vista.. and I found out it is actually "HP QuickLaunch Buttons" that cause the missing driver. After installing it, the missing driver just disappear. And I am using the XP version for that, wondering why HP didn't put it in the Vista driver page... Making it so troublesome for the end-user. mad.gif
