just bought one today at lowyat. v3106 for RM2450, no money to upgrade RAM.......paid wif CC, no xtra 3% charge

i think u better take the whole laptop back to the computer shop, ask them to test the suitable brand for ul...

just bought a Compaq 3106 ( i think so, coz din really check) last 2 weeks at lowyat, not bad....

Dun hv any problems on Memory card reader, so far I've tested on MS and SD card.
But got 1 problem using NERO burner. i try to burn MTV video cds, and i drag the video files into the column, the software itself will hang. I need to restart the software so many times just to burn one CD. I've tried 3 versions of NERO, but still the same problem, dunno y.....
anyone face that? or anyone face other issues on Compaq, jsut list down here so that others can share.

last nite after i used my laptop, i just close my notebook, no shut down windows with the power supply still connecting to it.
Then after one hour, i open back my laptop, then the screen just flash(got some messages on the screen, but didn't manage to read it) a bit a restart the windows, is it error or not?
Overheat?

Hi all, can i know the list of all the drivers needed for Compaq 3250AU.
I've installed Windows Vista in my laptop and some of the basic drivers, but there r still some unknown devices appearing at the Other devices, named "Base System device" and "Unknown Device".
So i'm wandering wat r those, plz help, thanks.

I already installed the quick launch button driver as well as the nforce mobo chipset driver. I dl it from hp homepage, but still there r those base system device and unknown device occurs.

hi, my presario laptop V3106TU just kena virus, and i try ti reformat it, but its totally diff from desktop. How to do it??
I try to run the format using WInXp CD, but the menu to choose the format harddrive did not exist.
THen i try using FDISK, then everything just screw up........
Currently it has 2 partition C and D, but i cant do anything to it in FDSIK.......now even worst........hai......
Help........
Plz provide steps and source......

already done it....the SATA Native SUpport already disabled.......
But then, still the same.............hai.....wan to bring to HP reseller to re-install meh.....

Problem is, for Winxp SP1, cannot even proceed, fail at the initiallizing, got blue screen, ask me to disable the system bios shadow.

FOr WInXp SP2, during initialization, got prompt, the file hpt3xx.sys could not be found, the press any key to continue, then it says setup failed, plz restart......

hai............

PS: my OS is "low cost edition" one, u know wat i mean lah.....

Manage to reformat my Presario 3106TU. I got 3 "low cost edition" WINXP.
1. WINXP SP1
2. WINXP SP2
3. Chinese WINXP SP1a

1 and 2 cannot use, gives error while booting.....blue screen.
End up using 3 to boot and reformat the harddisk......After installing the CHinese version, then only install SP2 English version.....troublesome......
Now only i know those bootable CDs are all different one, hai..........

BTW, how to know whether the laptop got bluetooth module?? i check the back part of my v3106TU, got written bluetooth module. But when i bought it last time, the seller told me no bluetooth one.....
How to check??

Wats the use of enabling and disabling the SATA native support? After i disable it and reinstall my WInXP, i cant enable it again, coz it will keep on restart.......y??

hi there, I'm using presario v3106. I got 2 rams in it, both pc25300, 1 is 512 and another one is 1g. The max freq is 667, so i should get 333 as the frequency.
When I check using CPU-Z, the frequency shown is only 266, and there is not other settings in the bios. y ah?? how to increase it to 333?

oh like this ah? but with my 512 and 1gb setup, the CPU-Z showing dual channel wor.......
Although they r not running in dual channel, it still can reach 667mhz rite? confusing.......
