too bad i only noe u can identify it through the box u purchase, the manual or behind the lappie where u stick the windows license sticker.

vista installation driver can be get back from the official websites.

isit an original license key from the windows vista cd for ur lappie?
does the whole dvd still intact with its casing?
cos normally the vista dvd will do the instalation of drivers for u when u format ur pc..

however i suggest u use xp coz its more smooth and program-friendly..

normaly the sticker comes with the dvd.so u shud refer back to the previous owner for it.i dunno whether any aherm dvd can instal ur drivers back but u can try coz its ur lappie.for my own rules, i only noe all windows cd gt their own key, u cant universal it to any cd..its juz like a code printed to the particular cd..
however u can try la and tel us the result.

u go to the hp waranty centre, bring ur lappie along.tell the technician that u plan to extend another 2 years.he will like check ur waranty..check ur lappie condition and if everyting ok, you pay them, they extend thru their system.

however u can also extend even if ur lappie is over waranty period when:
1. ur lappie is still in gud condition, no hardware failure.
2. the spare parts still easily available from the factory

the waranty will not be thorough coz they might not cover the waranty to some certain hardwares such as speakers.
u noe la..speakers do depreciate their quality..
