Don't bother trying to fix it. Most times it doesn't work. Doing the rubbing method may also damage your screen further, so you're risking your warranty.I'd suggest bringing it to HP, telling them how annoying/distracting this is on a NEW laptop (emphasise the point). They should be able to replace the screen for you.
