It's normal. It's called Dynamic Switching. Whenever the processor do not need to process intensive applications, it will step down the speed.

Thanks a lot for the answer, another issue: the AMD dual core optimizer, according to the readme
"* On 4x4 Systems, right click on the AMD logo system tray icon and select "Gaming Mode" in order to turn "Gaming Mode" on/off."

But i dont have the logo in system try, i double clicked the "amd_dc_opt.exe" in the installation folder but still cant see the icon. sweat.gif

Any help !

There are many versions (distros) of linux. You can choose according to your need. You can see the screen shots of available Linux distros form the below link.

http://shots.osdir.com/

Now, i suggest you try Ubuntu 6.10 or Fedora core 6 for 3133. Yes there are some issues but can fix those with online helps.

All the best choosing ur lappy ! thumbup.gif

I burnt all the softwares in a CD b4 i brought the lappy but the place i brought the lappy gave me a copy of all the drivers needed. I guess most if the shops do. Still check and if u have a broad band u can download the latest driver from HP Malaysia site.

Linux distros has fourms like this and almost all the issues can be fixed easly. Personally, i think its an investment to know linux as there is a great interest in the market for the people who know linux smile.gif
