hi ... new user here .. just bought V3201TU last monday ... its with Intel Core Duo processor .... and upgrade to 2GB ram ..
sorry if I asked this question again ... coz i still didnt finish reading this 100 over pages on this thread .. this v3201 bios F.26 didnt have any option for setting the video memory allocation .. and it only says the max memory can go is until 128 mb in windows xp.. but in windows xp itself.. it can only detect until 32mb only ... i called hp for some help...and they said intel will allocate the extra memory automatically to the software ..
but i tried to install a program called Yodm3D ... its a desktop visualizer software ... and when i try to install it .. it give an error says my video memory is not enough ...
so do any of you guys here know how to increase the video memory since there is no setting for it in bios...
and .. how do you guys deal with the heat at the left hand side of the palm rest ... since the hard disk is located directly below it. so uncomfortable when typing.

QUOTE(yanazman @ Jun 4 2007, 11:28 PM) hey guys, i'm a new user here.. i've a v3204au with 512mb ram.. it came with vista home basic but because it's a bit hard for me to get the extra ram for upgrades at the moment, i've to downgrade to xp pro.. but when i just installed xp on my local drive, the drivers were missing and i understand that the vista drivers are different from xp, but i tried looking for the sound driver from hp website coz no sound is coming out. the drivers from the website dont work at all. there was an error saying "error ####: there was no MEDIA found on this device" or something like that. can someone help me? i got the same problem like you at first .. then the guy from the retail give me a softpack to run which is used to install modem and audio driver ... then only the windows detect the driver for modem and audio from the installer. PM me and i try to mail the softpack to you.

It come out error message that said "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver." Anyway, I'm using V3203AU. So anyone know how to fix it, please please post it up here. Thanks in advance. try download this package ... run Asetup.exe ... then it will prompt and ask the audio and modem driver .... everything next is as usual ..if not working .. tell me. http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/183343/ru...Modem1-zip.htmlThis post has been edited by asrulz: Jun 7 2007, 01:39 PM

QUOTE(THT United Gadgets @ Jun 8 2007, 10:32 PM) What is the model of the V3000 that costs RM1799, as shown in the print ads? I'm using this one but forgot the model number already! look at the bottom side of the notebook ... look at the serial number area..there should be stated the model number over there. QUOTE(TerryZeroX) And why is the Intel GMA 950 Video show 32MB only in the Display Properties? But in the BIOS it show 128MB? What is wrong? Or is it automatic/dynamically adjust by Windows? you are using Windows XP rite? same this goes with me .. I guess Intel will assign the video memory automatically to the application it will run ... but my colleague who is using Vista .. it shows 64mb for video memory try to run DxDiag ... you'll noticed the AGP Texture Accelerator is 'not available' under Windows XP .. but in Vista .. its Enabled.
