Thanks a lot for the answer, another issue: the AMD dual core optimizer, according to the readme
"* On 4x4 Systems, right click on the AMD logo system tray icon and select "Gaming Mode" in order to turn "Gaming Mode" on/off."

But i dont have the logo in system try, i double clicked the "amd_dc_opt.exe" in the installation folder but still cant see the icon.  sweat.gif

Any help !

Thanks;

yes I already ask the sales guy and he said it is Centrino C2D. But if it is centrino platform, why dont they display the Centrino Inside logo instead of only showing the Intel C2D inside?

As u guys know before this, most of the notebook is using pentium 4, which is for PC right? So I'm afraid that they are using C2D for PC inside of the Notebook... So afraid it will overheat... hehehe... Do u guys know what I mean?
I think most of u guys get the V3000 from Cycom at Lowyat right? So that's why I need your confirmation regarding this matter. Thanks

many brands also do the same, they only stick the C2D sticker.
It is a centrino if it is using intel chipset and intel wifi hardware.

just x2. that's just how a ddr or ddr2 speed is calculated.
for example, DDR2-5300 is suppose to be 667mhz.
so, 333mhz x2 = 666mhz.

GRAPHICS: Updating to the latest NVIDIA FORCEWARE (alexus)

"the latest forceware is version 93.71, you'll have to edit the nv4_disp.inf file to make it to install on geforce go 6150."

just add the two line below into the inf file:

%NVIDIA_C51.DEV_0244.1% = nv4_NV3x,PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0244
NVIDIA_C51.DEV_0244.1 = "NVIDIA Geforce Go 6150"
How to do it for windows vista? Is it the same?

I don't know if editing the nv4_disp.inf file will work on vista or not, i'm still running on windows xp. The newest nvidia forceware driver for vista 32bit is 158.24 at nvidia's website. Why don't you give it a try.

apart from the heat issue...i love this lappy..LOL...serves me well... rclxms.gif

just wonder why it turns so hot.. hmm.gif

i have a opinion here to share...the small CPU fan below (top left) that suppose to withdraw heat out from the processor, why the opening holes for the fan only opens 1/4 of the whole circle?? hmm.gif

if you dont undastan which part im talking abt, flip ur lappy up and see.... wink.gif

aint it suppose to make more opening for the heat to be withdrawn easilly.. hmm.gif

feels like using a screwdriver to poke more holes..hahahahah biggrin.gif  laugh.gif  thumbup.gif

i compare this lappy with my gf's Lenovo, Heaven and Earth man...Watch movie 2 hours without cooler pad but the heat still go steady only... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

AMD X2 Turion isn't really that hot, it's the nforce chipset that's very hot.
I've took my lappie apart few weeks ago, surprisingly the heatsink that cover cpu and nforce chipset did not touch the nforce chipset directly, there was no thermal paste between the chipset and the heatsink, only a 2mm thermal pad (something like chewing gum) that fill the gap between the heatsink and chipset.
The cooling design for compaq v3000 series sucks.
Oh, btw, my model is v3010, bought it last year.

The chipset sit just next to the cpu. And the cpu is beside the ram slot. if you open the ram cover beneath the laptop, you could see part of the cpu slot.
