QUOTE(techie.opinion @ May 2 2007, 10:23 PM) Aiyooo.. Want to test something like that? I never do it but think V3000 should be ok then.... Cheers! Added on May 2, 2007, 10:32 pmI used to browse net, photoshop, wifi on, battery charging and play youtube video for more than 2 hours. My temp is about 44(CPU) and 42(HD) in air-cond room... One thing that i notice is this AMD X2 was so good even i run on multiple application and devices on time... it does not feel slower or having jagged display. Huh so far so happy with this lappy. as long you dun overheat ur lappy ..keep it on for a full week also no problem i guess ... ya ..coz Turion64x2 uses 2 cores ..so the multitasking experience is juz great hehhe ..

QUOTE(john_jay2 @ May 4 2007, 12:01 AM) but the price now different not much lar .. also quite reasonable .. n now , for the c2d model i am doing offer at the price of RM 2899 for V3203TU ^ ^ cheers ... C2D is better than Turion in performance and voltage reservation efficiency .. since Turion64 x 2 is onli on par wit Core Duo .so there is a certain unfair for Turions to be compared to C2D. .

TURION64 x2 is a 64 bit dual core (2 core) processor, code name Taylor (2 x 256 KB L2) and Trinidad (2 x 512 KB L2), DDR2-667 support, Pacifica (AMD-v) virtualisation technics, 31-35 W TDP, socket S1, 90 nm fabrication, separated L2 Caches, integrated 333 MHz DDR, 800 MHz Hypertransport
AMD Turion 64 X2 is intended to be positioned against the Intel CORE DUO was presented in 17. May 2006. The current consumption is not higher than with Centrino-Duo-notebooks (TL-45 with ATI Xpress and Mobility Radeon X300). This means, that approximative the same battery runtime and fan functions can be expected (with this chipset). However, the performance was 20% below the T2300 (1.66 GHz) due to the lower L2 Cache (Core Duo has 2048 Kbyte shared L2 Cache).

QUOTE(john_jay2 @ May 4 2007, 01:24 AM) i mean if compare the TL-52 with C2D .. TL-50 is slightly lower .... n we should not compare it with C2D ... right ? yes coz turion64 x2 is mde to rival DuoCore not C2D ..but newer Turions will be out soon to fight wit C2d in Kent platform .. Kent vs Santa Rosa ..lol

QUOTE(techie.opinion @ May 4 2007, 01:42 AM) I want to highlight about SEPARATED L2 Caches that was design on Turion X2 chips. Which is given a slap to INTEL since their core duo product was not like AMD. How about core 2 duo? I realized that latest core 2 duo chip is so speedy with 1066mhz fsb but it cost u a bomb to have it. :> Unfortunately, AMD Turion X2 is already come with Power optimized HyperTransport(tm) technology up to 1600MHz, full duplex! Is not future but currently technology on AMD Turion X2. AMD actually really ONE LEAP AHEAD.... is not intel eventually ya, AMD did some amazing work to Turion64 x2 even it is on par in terms of performance with Core Duo ..but some of it's features really outstands Merom. First is the Memory controller: dual channel DDR2-667 MHz X2 (using full-duplex hypertransport bus renders CPU-RAM bandwidth of 10.7 Gbytes/s is twice the speed of Intel's Core 2 Duo Merom which is only capable of 5.3 Gbytes/s with its 667MHz FSB Half-Duplex Memory controller. In the first half of 2007, Turion 64 would be adding support for DDR2-800 . This move will set it up directly against the a new Intel Santa Rosa platform for the Core 2 Duo "Merom" which also supports DDR2-800. Simultaneously, AMD will unveil a refresh of its Kite platform which brings Wireless Draft-N support, HDMI, hybrid hard drives and dynamic graphics switching to its recommendations. The feature to look out for will be dynamic graphics switching which will seamlessly switch between discrete graphics to maximize performance or low-power integrated graphics to extend battery life.

Turion64 x2 Power consumption (TDP): 31, 33, 35 Watt max
Core Duo Power consumption (TDP): 25 watts
Core 2 Duo Power consumptopm (TDP):34, 35 watts
ignoring the ventilation design of the notebook maker ..theorically the higher the watt the more heat it generates ..lol ..
