QUOTE(Godbomber @ Jul 4 2007, 07:01 PM) Hi, I just purchase Compaq Presario V3509 from Lowyat which comes with preloaded Windows Vista (Here is the spec: Compaq Presario V3509) I have decided to install Windows XP. Hear that SATA driver Disable feature not longer exist in the BIOS and I have confirmed this by checking. the driver is in the hp website....its at the drivers page...Questions: 1. During intallation of Windows (Hit F6 for Raid), can I install the driver of SATA HDD into normal USB pendrive? Not really want to spend extra $ on getting a External 3.5 Floppy drive. 2. It makes no sense to me why we can use an external 3.5 floppy drive but not the normal USB pendrive. 3. Anyone here has the drivers for motherboard and SATA hdd for Compaq Presario V3509? HP site does not provide these drivers but other driver. Please share with me your experience in installing Windows XP on Compaq Presario V3509. Thanks no,there is no other way other than using a FDD...i also tried to slipstream the driver into the xp installation...which also don't work at all....so its either using a FDD or Vista... |

QUOTE(vetkin_gray @ Jul 7 2007, 02:16 PM) i heard from ppl that compaq is not a very good laptop.. can anyone back that up? i oso don't see any compaq brand as the top laptop in notebookreview.com. i feel kinda dissappointed since i had my eye on the new 3500 series.. compaq is a economical laptop.....obviously if you look at the top notebook reviews you wont see the compaq there as they only list the super high end brands like asus and so....and also define what do you mean by not very good? |
