QUOTE(kanethesun @ May 26 2007, 08:53 AM) uhm, I wonder why my laptop wont decrease the speed when I use battery only, as it still remain on 1.6ghz, this is too much draining my battery life install Windows XP with Service Pack 2, but it still manage to run 2 hours, so my guess if its running at half of the speed when I use battery, i can use at least 3 hours also NHC can do setting on thise? I already chooose under Battery there, while using current, maximize performance, and when using battery, maximise batt life. any idea? install the Microsoft Dual Core hotfix, install the AMD Dual Core Turion 64 X2 CPU driver install the AMD Dual Core Optimizer optional: install AMD Power Monitor to easily switch between power options... set power option to minimal power management. should be fine... will try to update the main page with dual core drivers n links asap... if you are using windows vista, you dont need to install any of the dual core drivers or anything. Vista supports dual core out of the box.
Windows Vista Power Options in Control Panel has a PowerSaver plan. does that work? somewhere in the control panel also has settings for notebook, i think. Vista Power Saving tips http://techlogg.com/content/view/166/1/ Early version of Windows Vista has problem with power management too. heard that it drains more power than Windows XP. Basic Knowledge of disk maintainance:
For NTFS partitions, when there are too many files, the MFT becomes full this will cause the pc to lag/slow down significantly during normal everyday task... therefore you need to expand the MFT. use Diskeeper to defrag it efficiently and to Frag Shield in Diskeeper to expand the MFT. this will ensure that your pc will run smoothly in a long run and feels just like the day u first turn it on. MFT - Master File Table do a chkdsk <system partition letter>:/f from command prompt now n then before the computer starts up to ensure optimal performance. |

i suppose. newer V3000 has better compatibility with new rams... probably the first generation of V3000 has issues with different types. but i would recommend kingston for compatibility.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...0&lang=en&cc=my i suppose V3600 series is using a newer version of the motherboard... the BIOS update on the driver site has a different number from the V3000-V3500 series... hopefully less problems... |

Hi Frequent Contributors to the V3000 V2 thread,
we are in the midst of setting up a new version for this thread. we have received many suggestions to revamp the design n etc. we are also seeking efforts from senior or expert contributors in the intel section of this thread as there is a lack of support on the INTEL side. we hope to start a new thread pretty soon. I, sokdotcom would like to apologize to everyone for not updating this thread frequently as i am currently having my final exams as of this week of my last semester in my third year in UNITEN. SiuYi is very helpful is assisting & leading the effort in bringing up the V3 thread. "May the V3 thread be a success and a helpful one to all V3000 users!" Regards sokdotcom |
