Montella is hardly a failure in Serie A actually... he did pretty good so far, scored 6 goals as he only started 7 games + some sub appearances. juz that we're playing a lone striker tactic, n Totti is in slizzling form.
anyway i hereby declare myself to b a Fulham fan for 6 months. |

Ribery will be going to Real? I think it depends on Becks and his new contract.
David Villa might join Liverpool, but I doubt that Rafa can raise enough money to get him through the January transfer. I hope we can see him next season tho. Hargreaves seems unlikely to join Man UTD, but we will never know what that old man fergie can do. He might do a swap for Hargreaves for all we know. |

Liverpool might do with an unknown striker, like Arsenal did last season when they bought Adebayor. with crouch, Bellamy and Kuyt working well together, they might not need Villa this early, but just someone to cover for them. Arsenal or Wenger has stated they do not want any new players, and this might be because too many good youngsters are wanting to play. Diaby and Lauren are also back to the squad.

There was also one Gianluca Vialli. The most successful Italian is arguable Gianfranco Zola. It is my opinion that Montella will do well in his time here as I feel he can adapt to the English game that involves more aerial challenges. He is a good header of the ball and I have a feeling he may just ensure Fulham stay in the Prem this season. QUOTE(Aztec @ Jan 5 2007, 10:46 AM) villa definately wont go liverpool during jan transfer window cause valencia want a lot of money for him..money that even chelsea wont pay.. It is highly unlikely but not impossible. Crouch is valued at around $12 million by Newcastle and though both Rafa and Crouch have said he won't be leaving, you never know with the wheeling and dealing that goes on nowadays. Villa will be allowed to leave for around $20+ million or so from what I remember reading, so that's a difference of around $8 million or so. Couple all that with the fact that DIC could be in the picture really soon and are rumoured to provide around $30 million in transfer funds. It also looks like we are interested in signing Masherano who wants to leave the hammers. http://www.westham.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=45261How about this for another rumour eh? Crouch to Juve? http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...n+Juventus+link I was watching Football Focus the other day and both Shebby and Macca predicted that Becks could well move to Anfield (heavens, no!). The latest news however is that Real will be offering him a 2 year contract so that is some relief to me. This post has been edited by Duke Red: Jan 5 2007, 11:29 AM |

QUOTE(lawsh @ Jan 5 2007, 11:09 AM) larsson is just a 3 month loanee It's not always just about the money. Nowadays players have the power to determine where they want to go. Reyes for example has always cited he wants to play for Real and jumped at the chance when it arrived. Unless I'm mistaken, I remember reading somewhere that Ronaldo would one day like to play in Spain (it's a much better place to live as well, compared with almost every city in England).we need a striker with aerial presence so we can diversify the use of our wingers the sun malaysia today reported that Barca bidded for Ronaldo 40M Euro 40M euro, i won't sell him using euro pricing if im in charge i would put 100M pound |

Seems Masherano and Tevez will not be allowed to leave West Ham this season as FIFA rules dictate that no player can move to more than 3 clubs in a season. |

Boa Morte confirms move
QUOTE Luis Boa Morte has confirmed he has agreed to move to West Ham. The Portuguese international is set to tie up the move to Upton Park on Friday after Fulham accepted a £5million offer for the winger. The former Arsenal man believes the time is right to seek a new challenge after six years at Craven Cottage. "It was just the moment for a change to another big club and continue my story in England. "The decision was not easy for me. "They offered me an excellent contract. West Ham offered me more money than Fulham." Boa Morte is ready for the challenge of trying to help West Ham avoid relegation. "I have always given my best for Fulham and now I begin a new era in my life," added Boa Morte. "A complicated challenge in my career. "West Ham are in the relegation zone, but I believe that it is possible to recover so that we can stay in the Premier League." Pompey linked with Taiwo swoop
QUOTE It is claimed that Portsmouth are in talks to land Nigerian star Taye Taiwo. The Marseille full-back is one of the most highly rated left sided talents in Le Championnat and it seems he is on Harry Redknapp's radar. Redknapp has already admitted that a left sider was one of his top priorities during the January transfer window and Taiwo could be his main target. The player's brother has claimed that Taiwo held talks with Pompey last week. "My brother went to London to discuss his possible move to Portsmouth," Waheed Taiwo told Nigerian Sports. Taiwo was a target for Spanish giants Valencia last summer, so should Marseille agree to let him leave - Portsmouth are not likely to be the only interested party. SOURCE |

Cottagers accept John offer
QUOTE Fulham have accepted a bid from an unnamed Premiership club for Dutch striker Collins John. The Cottagers moved to sign Vincenzo Montella on loan from Roma on Thursday and the arrival of the Italian has seemingly paved the way for John to end his time at Craven Cottage. John has scored just once so far this season for Chris Coleman's side, with the Cottagers boss preferring Heidar Helguson and Brian McBride in attack for the majority of the season. Coleman denied that Fulham had received any approaches for John at the start of the week, but the London side have now accepted a bid from an unnamed party as they look to offload the 21-year-old. Watford have been strongly linked with the former Twente Entschede starlet in the past, and Adrian Boothroyd is known to be searching for striking reinforcements after the serious injury to Marlon King. Charlton are also believed to be a potential suitor for John as new boss Alan Pardew looks to construct a team capable of avoiding the drop. SOURCE |

The bench is not the best looking, but not bad lah.
Park was out injured for 3 months, Smith is still coming back from injury. Ole and Park can change games, and now we have Larsson too. Hopefully can get Hargreaves, if can't, can wait next season. Hope Ribery would be available that time too. |

How about Sol Campbell to Chelsea rumour? Chelsea surely needs some center defenders while Sol Campbell is an established one and I think he is ready to sit on the bench if there's more money in his bank each week. Not forget to mention that he will return to London and to be another "icon" there, especially to Arsenal and Spurs fans... after coming back from "foreign" club (he said so when he ask for mutual termination from Arsene Wenger

Latics land Unsworth
QUOTE Wigan have signed David Unsworth from Premiership rivals Sheffield United. Unsworth was out of the picture at Bramall Lane after dropping down the pecking order in Neil Warnock's plans. The former Everton man was placed on the transfer list last month by United and Wigan have moved to offer him an escape route out of the Yorkshire club by signing him on a free transfer. The 33-year-old will help provide cover in the Wigan defence with Andy Webster on the verge of a move to Rangers. Unsworth becomes Wigan's third signing of the month following the captures of Kristofer Haestad and Andreas Granqvist. |

Manchester United finally LAUNCHED the first official bid for Owen Hargreaves ( 35million euros ) .
Javier Mascherano had undergo a medical check-up at Anfield but the transfer may be blocked by fifa as there is a rule says, "a player cannot play for 2 teams in one season as he played for Corinthians and WestHam . A 6 month loan , follow by a permanent deal . |

Actually, Bellamy is the 1st choice striker along Kuyt for now. In defence Liverpool got Aurelio Agger and some up and coming youngsters..Indeed liverpool is missing a DM wen Sissoko is injured but if they do buy Mascherano den wher's Sissoko gonna play?Even Hamann oso got it hard and play v v little games.. Pennant feature more than 3/4 of Liverpool games. Aurelio injured for 2 months now only fit. Gonzalez still adjusting to Premier league & feature in more than half of Liv games. Agger feature more than Hyypia this season, need to say more? Paletta is the one for future and feature in cup games. Guthrie being groomed for 1st team with few games in premier league.(oops hes not bought but graduated from academy) So who did I miss? Basically all Liv players bought in the summer did feature regularly contrary to ur comment. Mascherano is a tactical signing. A DM but more cultured footballer than Sissoko hence the interest. Before tis i was replying to sum1 who asked me to name him few names tat r good and decent players..So tat's y i bring up names such as Bellamy and Pennant..
Well Liverpool did brought quite a few new faces to da team..Its like Chelsea act to have replacement for every department..Mark Gonzales and Harry kewell on the left..Garcia and Pennant on da right..And Alonso Gerard Sissoko and to an extent Zenden..These are da few example of how equipped Liverpool are..They got so many players in their disposals and and more or less resembles Chelsea.. Tat's y i said tat its a pity for some players who are not getting games since Benitez is playing in a rotation policy..U cant really get da true potential of a player if u dun give them enuff games rite?So i juz feel tat Benitez should offload some players 1st before trying to sign Masherano..Im afraid he wont be able to play much games too.. Cheers mate.. |

I dun think Liverpool has problem with centre midfield..
they have alonso and gerrard..both are very good players. the problem they have now i think lies in their wing play.. they dun have good wingers..luis garcia is good but not consistent.. mark gonzales..well, mayb trying to adapt to epl, kewell injured again pennant is so-so.. thats my opinion though |

Money talks - but if the board and the manager are on the same wavelength there shoud not be a problem. Surely the board, on the advice of the manager, would hate to see their best players go.
Which brings me to rumoured 'unrest' at Chelsea. If it is true, imo it is because Jose is forced to buy players he didn't really want at an inflated price. Roman and Kenyon might have meddled with Jose's business. |

Actually I don't think we have that big a squad. Look at our reserve lineup and you'll notice that only Fowler, Dudek and possibly Warnock feature in the 1st team. The signing of Masherano makes sense to me especially when you consider that Sissoko is out injured as is Zenden. We need immediate cover in the centre as only Gerrard and Alonso are recognised central midfielders. Lucas Neill will provide some much needed backup to Finnan who is our only rightback (though Carra can fill in). Our forwards are also misfiring and we are crying out for a clinical finisher. It is not an issue of whether or not we have players in other positions but more if we can find better ones. Pennant has had only a couple of decent games since signing and Garcia is more of a supporting striker than a right winger, another department we need strengthening in.This post has been edited by Duke Red: Jan 8 2007, 11:50 AM |

Agreed with duke red that pennant is not up to the expectation. He does not defence and not a goal scorer as well. His assist almost all come from his crossing yet his accurancy is not very good although i believe he is one of the player who deliver most crossing in EPL. The quality of crossing is very important becoz of the style liverpool play. I think RB will continue to search for winger at both sides.

I hope SAF wont sell any of the current mayb keiron and silves but not the other. Man Utd need to add in to their squad. so that no matter man utd win the league or not, they will still have a very good and balance squad.

i've heard MU will sign Bojan Krkic - 16 year-old Serbian-Spanish footballer who plays for Barcelona FC in Spain
Krkic has scored 899 Goals, in 7 seasons (1999-2006), which gave him a goal average of 3.5 goals per game! He is currently playing with the Barçelona B team. (2006/2007) This post has been edited by miccy: Jan 8 2007, 06:38 PM |

I think Ribery will be the biggest mover in January.
FM is a reflection of football in real life, I'd say it's pretty dependable. Which relegation threatened club gonna buy big to escape this time around? West Ham? |

Dunn passes Trotters medical
QUOTE David Dunn is on the verge of joining Bolton after passing a medical at The Reebok Stadium. The Birmingham midfielder has been in talks with The Trotters over the weekend about a £1million switch. Former club Blackburn have also been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, but his next destination appears likely to be Bolton. Dunn's fitness was Sam Allardyce's prime concern but having passed a medical, the Bolton boss will get the go-ahead to complete his signing. Bolton are expected to make Dunn their first signing in the January transfer window later on Tuesday. |

Transfer Gossip
Chelsea hope to sign Bolton defender Tal Ben Haim - as a peace offering to Blues boss Jose Mourinho. (Various) And if the champions fail to land Ben Haim they will move for Deportivo La Coruna's Jorge Andrade. (Daily Mail) But Mourinho will be told he cannot buy a striker. (Daily Star) Everton are set to make a £5.5m swoop for Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton. (Various) Simon Davies is heading for the Everton exit in a £2m Fulham move. (Daily Mail) Watford winger Ashley Young has rejected a £10m move to West Ham and a £50,000-a-week wage packet. (Various) Young wants to move to Tottenham and any deal could involve Callum Davenport and Wayne Routledge heading the other way to Vicarage Road. (Independent) However, Davenport is being used as bait elsewhere. Spurs hope to land Derby midfielder Giles Barnes by offering £2m and the defender in exchange. (Sun) And the Rams could splash that cash on Crewe defender Billy Jones. (Sun) Aston Villa are also keeping tabs on what is going on with England under-21 international Young. (Various) Milan Baros could be heading for the Villa Park exit to German Bundeliga leaders Werder Bremen. (Times) But Rangers winger Chris Burke could be coming in through that revolving Aston Villa door. (Daily Mail) Fulham have identified Polish striker Radoslav Matusiak as a transfer window target, although Aston Villa are also interested. (Sun) Fulham are also interested in Sheffield United forward Danny Webber. (Times) Blades boss Neil Warnock has been busy in the last few days and that will continue with a move for Levante striker Albert Meyong Ze. (Daily Star) And the Blades are confident of beating Wigan, Reading and Charlton in the race to land Colchester's £4m-rated defender Greg Halford. (Times) Defender Jonathan Fortune will leave Charlton for Burnely. (Daily Mail) Hull are tempted by Derby midfielder Seth Johnson and Sheffield United defender Chris Lucketti. (Daily Star) West Ham are in talks with Arsenal defender Lauren - but Portsmouth, Newcastle, Villarreal, Seville and Lyon are also interested. (Daily Express) Lauren does not fancy a move to West Ham who are now chasing Juventus defender Jonathan Zebina. (Times) And the Hammers are also hoping to trump Liverpool in the race to sign Blackburn right-back Lucas Neill by offering better wages. (Daily Express) Wigan want West Ham striker Bobby Zamora. (Times) Fifa may relax regulations to let West Ham midfielder Javier Mascherano join Liverpool on loan. (Independent) Middlesbrough are set to spend £6m on Benfica midfielder Manuel Fernandes - who has been on loan at Portsmouth this season. (Sun) And Boro will finalise a deal for South Korea striker Lee Dong-Gook within the next 48 hours. (Daily Star) Manchester United will not pay more than £5.5m for Southampton's Gareth Bale. (Daily Mail) Tottenham are keeping tabs on Celta Vigo left winger Nene. (Daily Mail) Fulham's efforts to sign Hearts keeper Craig Gordon are set to fail, with Arsenal a more likely summer destination. (Daily Record) And back to where we began. Bolton will draft in Rennes defender Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe if Tal Ben Haim moves to Chelsea in the next fortnight. (Mirror) |

Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko, 30, has been told he is too old for the Premiership - by Arsenal rival Alexander Hleb, 25. (The Sun) The players at Stamford Bridge blame out-of-form Shevchenko for the row between owner Roman Abramovich and Mourinho. (Daily Mirror) Mourinho held clear-the-air talks with Shevchenko on Monday in a bid to heal the rift with the £30m forward. (Daily Express) Mourinho's relationship with Abramovich has deteriorated to such an extent that the pair are now refusing to talk to each other. (Daily Mail) Chelsea want Frank Lampard and John Terry to sign new deals this year - to stop them leaving with Mourinho. (Sun) Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech must wear a special protective headguard when he plays for the next three years after fracturing his skull. (Mirror) |

Igor Akinfeev and Oscar Ustari would make good GKs in FM07.
FM does reflect the real world, we're just flushed with money cause were over achieving managers. |

akinfeev is actually not as bad as he seems. yes he is overrated due to FM but in truth, when against big teams in CL, he holds his own.

Actually, there are 2 goalkeepers that wenger are looking at for a long time in real life, one is from Celtic and one IS akinfeev
thus, don't rule out Akinfeev going to Arsenal. And with Wenger seems wanting to get a long time replacement that he can nurture, instead of a short one that is already established, I don't think Buffon will come And so is Ribery. He won't come to Arsenal as Wenger's midfield is already congested This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jan 18 2007, 10:52 AM |
