Liverpool might do with an unknown striker, like Arsenal did last season when they bought Adebayor. with crouch, Bellamy and Kuyt working well together, they might not need Villa this early, but just someone to cover for them. Arsenal or Wenger has stated they do not want any new players, and this might be because too many good youngsters are wanting to play. Diaby and Lauren are also back to the squad.

Luis Boa Morte has confirmed he has agreed to move to West Ham.

The Portuguese international is set to tie up the move to Upton Park on Friday after Fulham accepted a �5million offer for the winger.

The former Arsenal man believes the time is right to seek a new challenge after six years at Craven Cottage.

"It was just the moment for a change to another big club and continue my story in England.

"The decision was not easy for me.

"They offered me an excellent contract. West Ham offered me more money than Fulham."

Boa Morte is ready for the challenge of trying to help West Ham avoid relegation.

"I have always given my best for Fulham and now I begin a new era in my life," added Boa Morte. "A complicated challenge in my career.

"West Ham are in the relegation zone, but I believe that it is possible to recover so that we can stay in the Premier League."

It is claimed that Portsmouth are in talks to land Nigerian star Taye Taiwo.

The Marseille full-back is one of the most highly rated left sided talents in Le Championnat and it seems he is on Harry Redknapp's radar.

Redknapp has already admitted that a left sider was one of his top priorities during the January transfer window and Taiwo could be his main target.

The player's brother has claimed that Taiwo held talks with Pompey last week.

Fulham have accepted a bid from an unnamed Premiership club for Dutch striker Collins John.

The Cottagers moved to sign Vincenzo Montella on loan from Roma on Thursday and the arrival of the Italian has seemingly paved the way for John to end his time at Craven Cottage.

John has scored just once so far this season for Chris Coleman's side, with the Cottagers boss preferring Heidar Helguson and Brian McBride in attack for the majority of the season.

Coleman denied that Fulham had received any approaches for John at the start of the week, but the London side have now accepted a bid from an unnamed party as they look to offload the 21-year-old.

Watford have been strongly linked with the former Twente Entschede starlet in the past, and Adrian Boothroyd is known to be searching for striking reinforcements after the serious injury to Marlon King.
