Hello Everyone,
I would like to ask an IT experts and Lenovo Y50 user here, to recommending what type of RAM should I buy for my Lenovo Y50-70 [59418017], because I'm very confused right now, my friends say I should install DDR3L but when I check using HWiNFO64 & also check my spec model on the interernet , it said that Lenovo Y50-70 [59418017] using DDR3 not DDR3L.

yes you need ddr3l sodimm, because if you checked the voltage it's 1.35v. ddr3 sodimm needs 1.5v.

based on the part number of your current ram, it's actually a low voltage sodimm that supports 1.35v and 1.5v. there are 2 ways to label a ddr3 low voltage ram, it's either ddr3l or pc3l.

So, base on may understanding, do you mean I have to change the both RAM ( the one located within my laptop right now and one that I that will buy) to DDR3L sodimm? If so how much voltage 1.35v or 1.5v?

Thank You

if currently you have only one ram stick in your laptop (like what's shown in the image), you just need to top up another compatible 8gb stick with same voltage and clock speed (1.35v; 1600mhz 11-11-11-28)

imo kingston ddr3l value ram is one option, http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/?partid=kvr16ls11/8 c-zone at myr 133.00.

Ok, Thank you for that info, but I have some question;

1. Between This Corsair Memory RAM and Kingstone RAM ( the one that you recomended ) , which one is better?

2. Can I also replace my current RAM to DRR3L RAM ? Will this effect my laptop performance?

3. Is it okay if I install RAM from the different brand, In my case; 1st slot 8gb Samsung RAM & 2nd slot Kingston/Corsair Brand? Will this effect my laptop performance?

Thank You

1. they are the same. both are compatible based on specs.

2. your current ram is a ddr3l running at single channel.

3. yes. as long as it's fully compatible with the ram in your computer. previously i had 2x hynix 4gb and 2x kingston 8gb. everything is fine.

Already survey ;

Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM (CT102464BF160B)

Corsair Memory — 8GB DDR3L SODIMM Memory (CMSO8GX3M1C1600C11)

Kingstone 8GB Module - DDR3L 1600MHz (KVR16LS11/8)

and decide to buy Kingstone 8GB Module - DDR3L 1600MHz (KVR16LS11/8) , because it the most cheap and widely sold in the store. It the ram that you recommended. So far works great on my Lenovo Y50.
