I've just finished my SPM last year (2015) and I'm not so satisfied with my results. I got 4A (BM, Moral, Mod Maths, English), 1B (Chemistry) and 4C (Sejarah, Add Maths, Physics, Bio). I have to admit I didn't pay too much attention on my studies during that time and that's why my results are meh~

So I've checked my kemasukan tingkatan 6 yesterday and I was offered to further my studies at form 6 science stream. People said that form 6 is difficult, especially science stream. And I don't know whether I should just go for it or leave it.

Can someone tell me what are the compulsory subjects for form 6 science stream students besides Pengajian Am?

Further maths, Biogolgy and Chemistry or Physics.
My personal opinion. My bro 9A1 for SPM studied F6 and got into USM engineering.
When my turn SPM 1A only. My bro told me ....if you have other alternative don't take F6. He knows my study attitude overall and he doesnt recommmend me to take F6 cos its tough even for him. I took IT in TARC cos I had a choice.

If you have no choice then study F6 but make an effort to work hard and smart don't slack. Many of my peers took F6 ended up they did not get good results and had to waste one year(1 extra year of diploma on top of F6) and continue for degree in TARC.

To see whether you are suitable for form six or not, ask yourself:

Are you going to do your very best and not giving up when facing difficulties?

If your answer is an absolute yes, then go ahead. If it's still a between of yes and no, then sorry. Please go for other pre-u programs, because you will suffer during STPM.

Again, I would like to emphasize that STPM is not meant for those who are not ready and determined to face challenges and difficulties in life. Especially in science stream, as people had said so, it's very tough.

If you want to study in Science Stream, here are the subjects that you are required to take:
Pengajian Am, Mathematics T and Chemistry are compulsory for both Physics and Biology Streams.
Then you decide whether you want to go to Physics stream or Biology Stream. Means your fourth subject would be Physics or Biology depending on which stream that you have chosen.

Nevertheless, both of them are extremely tough and you will face a shock in the beginning of your studies. Have you considered Arts Stream yet? Your choices will be limited to arts and business related majors later on in choosing university courses but you will be easier to score in STPM as compared to science.

Form 6 isn't necessarily a bad choice. If you work hard, Form 6 will open up lots of opportunities for you.

For science stream students, Pengajian Am, Chemistry and Mathematics (T) are compulsory. Chemistry is the central science so you'll need it in a lot of areas. Mathematics is common everywhere.

Form 6 is all about standing up strong while being continuously savagely beaten.

Form 6 was the best part of my life so far. Better than my current university life I dare say.

I could not afford to go private pre-U or A-level, so I had no choice but to take Form 6.

It was really, very tough...sometimes I don't even know what was I studying, haha...

But I also glad I took Form 6...because when I entered U later, it was significantly easier for me....I knew because I had course mates from matrikulasi or other pre-U routes...

Also remember, having a STPM qualification can bring you to many other doorsopprtunities later

But of course, if you have other choices and foresee can't stand the 'torture' of Form 6, perhaps take other pre-U route would be better

Then again, Form 6 is one of the best phase in my life
