Why did he block me on Facebook after I rejected him?

I got to know this nice guy when we were college classmates. We became close friends, and then suddenly he developed feelings for me. I knew when as he started to be more concerning towards me. I felt creeped out and started avoiding him. When i started avoiding and ignoring him, he then blocked me on Facebook. I still see him in school. However, he still treats me nicely, although I can see that he tries to avoid me whenever possible. Why did he block me?
