i received a few free remax cables yesterday, got both red and blue colour.
it was some random driver, not your typical courier guy?
some sort of urber type delivery services?

tested it with an usb volt meter, it max was 1.12A with a 66% charged phone, which is ok. some user reported it was 0.8A earlier. maybe his phone is almost full?

The plastic cable feels thick and solid, i think its an genuine cable, or certainly better then the cheap basar malam type

the one i tested was red colour too. i was using ori honor 7 charger + phone @66% battery charged.
when i tested with the short ori xiaomi powerbank cable, i got 1.83A

try different chargers / phone maybe you may get different results, i doubt gem5 would be giving out fake cables.
they buy in bulk and it would be cheap as chips. not to mention reputation to uphold.

like the other guy said it was a promo during feb/march

i previously thought the remax cable from g5 where real, as i tested the amp and they were around 1.2 - 1.4A, which is ok
they felt thick and tought, most of all I didnt expect G5 will risk its reputation.
now that you mention it, yes it did spell Samsnug on the box
and when i look closely to Remax label its cut kind of rough in the edges, its like the injection mold just didn't fit right

gdex is probably the best courier in my personal experience, they are very fast and always call in the morning before they deliver.
took them overnight to deliver a 1.5hp aircon from kl to perak, same time as the usually small stuff.
