As you said the warranty should have been 1year till june 2017 but it was registered till aug 2017 could be due to bug in their system. If its so, bonus to you also ask them if the warranty has been fully registered in the system so in future you wouldn't have to bring along the receipt to claim.

I'd suggest you to name out the merchant so people would be aware of it and put less expectation
