Does the debit card spend count if it is not linked to the 360 account but under another OCBC account? Both also under my name and can see both on my OCBC e-banking portal.

I am an existing OCBC customer with a regular account. Was surprised the OCBC website allow me to open 360 Account under 10 seconds. Immediately activated and can use straight away.

But my debit card is still tied to my earlier account.

Best to check with them, some banks auto changed primary account, some dont. E.g: RHB Smart Account will be auto made primary even you had other account with the bank beforehand. On the other hand, UOB doesnt do that if you open UOB one account, need visit branch to convert.

correct me if i'm wrong.. but i'm under the impression that paying for your bills qualifies for the rm500 spendings? i'm not seeing anything under the new T&C that says otherwise as well unless "retail transactions" has a very specific definition that excludes bills that i'm not aware of.

If you are talking about the RM 500 spending with CREDIT CARD, YES IF YOU SELECTED THE BILLS TO BE CHARGED TO CREDIT CARD. It will be under BILL PAYMENTS categories if you DEBIT FROM YOUR 360 ACCOUNT.

well, their T&C said this:

QUOTE(ProxMatoR @ Aug 6 2018, 10:52 AM)
this is interesting... haha, just checked with the T&C:

Multiple payments within the calendar month bearing the same reference will be deemed as one Bill Payment. For example:
(i) multiple payments to the same OCBC home loan facility account; or
(ii) multiple payments to the same participating billing organisation, unless each payment is uniquely identified to a different account; or
(iii) multiple payments to the same account with any bank or financing institution.
OCBC Bank’s decisions as to whether any 2 or more payments shall collectively be deemed as one Bill Payment shall be final, conclusive and binding on all parties concerned.

maybe they updated new T&C after spotted many people did same as you haha

or maybe because your 2 transactions are pretty far apart? so the keyword "whether" kicked in... hahaha

try your luck. there is 1 here said managed to consider as different bill, but was quite sometime ago

No, the debit card must be linked to the 360 account as a primary account for it to count.

one time charge rm8 and annually rm8. you'll need a debit card or credit card to maximize your interest.

Thanks for the reply. But no thanks for the card. I don't need card to maximise interest when I intend to keep like RM2-3k inside only.

I am aiming for 2.9%p.a cukup. No way I am going to use ocbc card and don't earn nothing. Using ocbc cards means I am sacrificing my limited 5-10% cashback just to get 4.1% p. A which my calculations in previous post shows not worth it. So no thanks for the card

OCBC 360 Features:
0.5% - Base Interest (based on current Board Rate for Savings)
1.20% - Deposit minimum RM500 per month
1.20% - Pay minimum 3 bills via OCBC 360 Account using OCBC Online Banking portal (includes Standing Instructions for Loan repayment and OCBC Credit Card payment)
1.20% - Spend minimum RM500 on your OCBC Credit Card

It is no suitable for me, to pay minimum 3 bills and spend minimum RM500 on OCBC Credit Card, because I can get higher cashback, with suitable credit cards from other banks. So, I am left with 1.7% interest rate at best, which is inferior to the 2% interest rate of Maybank2u Savers.

Anyway, different people have different needs. smile.gif

Apparently you didn't calculate properly.
0.5% - Base Interest (based on current Board Rate for Savings)
1.20% - Deposit minimum RM500 per month
1.20% - Pay minimum 3 bills via OCBC 360 Account using IBG/IBFT into any bank account min RM1 biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
You can IBFT, IBG into your own bank account and is counted.
Total effective rate 2.9%p.a Still think it's inferior?

You should know me by now. I don't give free money to banks if I can help it. I attempt to squeeze out as much money as possible from banks. So with ocbc 360, no way I will use their card.

there are many ways to 'spend' the rm500. and yes depends on how much u have in the account to make the 1.2% relevant.

I thinking to use this acc also. my aim is the 1.25%. Spending wise I still think 5% CB better. Paying bills etc also tied to CC. So 1 months I only need to pay CC for all the bills.

Any other better savings account out there?

ASNB FP I cant sit infront of the com all day lol

You don't need to pay bills to using the card. Transfer RM1 to your other bank account with IBG/IBFT also counted as bill payment.
