Hi, i wanna ask the opinion of the performance of fagor built-in oven. I have been recommended with fagor built-in oven by few shops and they claim the performance is very good.

I did some googling, and most of the website (European site) did have a positive review on the oven, but what bother me is the after sales service in Malaysia. Their website is under maintenance (almost 2 weeks) and the feedback on their website is mostly negative.

Have any bro/sis that used their built-in oven and can comment on their recent after sales service..?

Fagor has been in Malaysia for quite long. Then about few years ago, closed down. They just operate again probably a year ago(?)

It probably cheap compare to other branded one like Teka, but Teka service also sucks laugh.gif . My brother uses Fagor washing machine. The good thing is that he can easily get the parts and perform DIY repair. I Think if you are in KL Shah Alam area, no problem for service.

Actually many brands appoints 3rd party services. They provides training. This is true for Lux (Electrolux), Tefal, etc. wink.gif

Bad experience , their customer services is bad, call up several time to service my 2 years old cooktops  instead ask me to buy new one, reason their technician not free. End-up buying a new one ( other brand)

The main reason is that no spare part. So, tech probably tired of chasing for it and customer chasing for them. Old model even harder to get spare parts. If you manage to buy part also, it cost is probably nearing the point of replacing with new unit.

Hi, is this a recent experience?

Let me reply this with my story.

Yes. I've been using Fagor induction, ceramic and ceramic grill hobs. The induction model has failed PCB for 4 times. Trice on the small boards that control touch sensor. You can call Fagor and they call the technician but you can also call the technician directly. Like I mentioned before, the technician is not really direct employee of Fagor, just like most branded product. They engaged small company or individual that is willing to do the job. Yes, they provide training. This is the way I see it. All previous services were done by this nice young Malay guy. Support were excellent. The reason I bought Fagor was that the shop owner where I bought my hob told me that Fagor has the best service compared to Teka (at that time).

The 3rd time the sensor card failed, the service were done by one Chinese (40's) and another young fella (I think he is training this guy). Fagor told me that the Malay guy has "quit". When the sensor card failed for the 4th time, the Chinese guy recommended me buy new hob. He told me that the old model difficult to get part (it was almost 10 years biggrin.gif). He gave all kind of excuse like saying the other gut waiting for oven part for 3 months. Probably at that time the Fagor was closed or just re-opened and not yet organized, perhaps, but the way the person talked was discouraging and make you hate the service and tarnish Fagor to certain extend. Since my induction was down, I used my ceramic but after 2 days, the ceramic hob made mild pop sound and dead doh.gif . Lucky I have table top Tesco induction wink.gif

I ended up shopping for new one and the price was getting higher than before for Fagor and the spec is still the same. Limited option I have for the hole size similar to old hob. I ended up buying Rinnai, which is way cheaper. The drawback is that it does not have the timer function which I used occasionally but what the heck. I believe in Japan quality more laugh.gif

The Rinnai brand is even faster in heating, I noticed even though the power rating is the same (I think? cannot recall). So if you are looking for gas stove, I would recommend Rinnai. Well known for gas. Induction and ceramic is quite new market for Malaysia I think but I'm happy with it.

Note:
The reason I said the technician is independent operator is because the Malay guy said he has plenty of faulty card at home. It is just that he don't know how to repair it, if not can re-use. I told him that looking at the parts, if you replace all the components it will not cost you more than the board price itself. I have no time to troubleshoot it my self and also quite lazy blush.gif laugh.gif
