Btw, anybody unlocked and rooted their phone already ? (and also knows how to extract a .qcn file of their RN3)? Badly needed your help.

Just got my RN3 from service center. They replaced my motherboard because it won't have signal.

I fucked my unlocking of bootloader where I lost the data in nvram (which stores imei etc). I managed to get nvram details back by manually importing a qcn file and inputting my imei. It detects my sim now but still cannot connect to my network. Last resort was to relock it's bootloader and send it for repair.

Don't be like me. Backup first before unlocking the bootloader or anything related to it. lol

I relocked it back before going.

They probably just checks on the imei for checking if warranty covered. And also the sticker in the screws.

I removed that as well. Yeah, removing it was a bitch. I used acetone to removed its residue.

They put a new sticker after fixing it though. It comes with 2 new imei.

Won't work since it is in a separate partition. Even install new rom I won't work on my case.

Are there any 2.5d tempered glass for rn3?

I got a text saying.. "Your unlock request has been approved. Go to https://unlock.update.miu.com to download the unlock tool".


I logged in and "Your device isnt supported by Mi Unlock".

I did. You need to unlock bootloader first.
I screwed something up but I did unlocked and rooted it.

Unofficial way. Lots of guides out there in miui forums.

I got my official unlock sms to me last friday but my mi account isn't detecting the unlock so I stopped worrying about it and just use this like a normal user. lol

Xiaomi can still honor your warranty even if you unlocked the bootloader if you know how to revert it back to locked status.

Hell I even opened my phone already upto dismantling a piece of the motherboard so I can revive it back to download mode. (there's 2 hardware contact points that is needed to be pressed in order to force the phone into download mode when normal ways doesn't work anymore).

There's a tiny warranty sticker on one of the screws inside it and it can be easily removed and stick it back.

I root so I can install better adblock for apps, browser, and youtube.

Just flash a rom downloaded from xiaomi itself. It will lock itself.

Unlocking the bootloader(unofficial way) is replacing a couple of files from that rom and flashing it.

Relocking the bootloader is simply just don't replace anything from that rom then flash it.

Just double check the rom version you're gping to install. And also drivers setup properly.

When you unlocked and rooted it, backup your nvram.

It charges fast too.
