Anyone can share your experience if the camera appear a lot of purple fringing on outdoor shots? Particularly tree branches? Saw that in a lot of reviews, official or user. hmm.gif

Been following this thread as I have the redmi 3 and grow some interest in redmi series.

Just one personal point of view - don't take forumers opinions (read: personal preferences) too seriously. What's acceptable to you might be unacceptable to some, while excellent to others. wink.gif

mine it totally opposite, and i have all those volume at maX!  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
*
I give some example:

When I put my redmi 3 beside my iPad, it looked a little greenish and warmer. When I put it beside my old Samsung s3, guess what, s3 display looked like hulk, and the redmi 3 look white and nice.

When I got my Samsung s7e and side by side with s6e, headphone sound the same volume to me. When use aux cable in car, s7e output is so much louder.

What does "Samsung phone" really mean anyway? Do all Bluetooth has same spec in all car audio system?

By the way, my call need to set to 0. I think my phone got bug which everything is just too loud...

There, lol. So for others who saw positive reports from other forumers don't jump into conclusion too soon. biggrin.gif

A factory reset might help?

QUOTE(untitled_mc @ Apr 13 2016, 11:44 AM)
Thanks for the input. Samsung phone refer to Note2 phone.

I dont know if all bluetooth has same spec in car audio system, but im sure if u cant hear the sound while you drive (with volume on phone & audio player at max), something must be wrong.. sad.gif
*
I would narrow it down to two symptoms and what to do with it if I put myself in your shoes
1) RN3 Bluetooth doesn't work well with my current car audio system, live with it and use AUX cable, or buy a new phone sweat.gif
2) test other car audio system or bt speakers. Problem persist, probably hardware problem, go exchange one to one since it's still very new. If sound normal, refer to point 1 sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

A forumer made a good suggestion below, factory reset might just solve the problem.

I updated already

I also realize one thing - different app playback at different volume and sound quality.

When I use mi stock music app the output quality is really good, while popular apps like poweramp sound weaker and not as good (not dramatically so), and spotify sounded a lot lower in volume.

But if call volume also need to set to 0 then I would do factory reset before forming conclusion. hmm.gif

Edit: just in case some of your app messing with the audio setting in the system without you noticing it...

given the price tag, you cannot complaint. I can say it's awesome.

unless you found better phone with better camera than RN3, but I don't think there is any.
*
I notice the purple fringing is quite severe on outdoor shots, anyone report the same experience? Just wondering if it's isolated issue or the nature of the lens. hmm.gif

Might want to get the RN3 after I get bored with my redmi 3. But so far it's the only thereng prevented me from getting it.

Wow no shit right shocking.gif my redmi 3 only 9hrs SOT. If RN3 SD version can hit 8-10 hours I'd upgrade immediately. having one RN3 mediatek 5-6 hours SOT only
*
I was really keen to look at RN3 as the immediate next upgrade when I was bored with my R3, quite convinced that RN3 > R3 due to better hardware but same SOT and battery life. But I'm seeing the purple fringing issue here (2nd picture) and I'm wondering if a different camera app will get rid of those? ohmy.gif

leechunghan Wondering if you have some free time to spare to try out other camera app like FV 5? I read about a photographer reported him using the RN3 with FV 5 and getting even better results. hmm.gif

b0rhui Actually R3 can also achieve same SOT given that it stays on wifi more and if you try to use that within one day (even spanning it out to 2 days of use). I can achieve 8.5 hours of SOT on my R3 with 2 days of standby, and still have 20% left. I can hit another 2 hours+ with that remaining 20%. However when I'm out whole day where it rely on mobile data seems to drain the battery faster on standby.

Why you pixel peep handphone camera? You got nothing to do ar?
*
Because I don't see it on my R3. And I don't see it on other mi phones. So I was wondering why they left RN3 this way. And I don't always see it on all RN3. Some does worse than others.

These are NOT acceptable!

You can LOL all you want and if no wants care to discuss then I'll just leave the thread then.

From time to time I forgotten I'm posting in Malaysian forum. Sad...

wow 10+ hours? thats amazing.. i get max 6-7hrs, but im 95% on mobile data, are u using more wifi?
*
That's what happen to my R3 too, on WiFi battery crazy good but on mobile data, not so. Somehow on less than ideal signal area the standby drain noticeably mote battery juice. If got stable signal still OK.

Mobile date drain more battery compared to wifi... smile.gif

My old S3 on jellybean 4.3 doesn't do that though. Data or WiFi standby more or less same. Noticed this when I switch to lollipop and beyond e.g. Samsung S6e and S7e.

No I'm not trying to "spread the bad news" cause I simply find it strange I see it on some sample shots while some don't, even shooting in similar lighting condition. So it could be an isolated problem, or software problem.

I'll just do my own research then. But this RN3 is tempting as it's not much more expensive than R3.

Depends on the settings, maybe the sleep WiFi or saving mode after the phone sleep for certain time.
Check settings

I no longer use my S3 already lol budget phone has come a long way and even cheapo redmi 3 is better than S3 in hardware performance and battery efficiency. That being said, the 4k battery on both R3 and RN3 won't post any major issue despite the lesser SOT on data.

QUOTE(miloy2k @ Apr 15 2016, 10:28 AM)
The SOT very dependent on which apps/games that you used. IMO if using apps like FB/Wee Chat/Whatsapp/etc (again depend on setting-real time notification and etc) will use up the battery more.

In most cases wifi will use less battery > mobile data (again if the line is stable-very good signal and etc) you will hardly notice it.

Perhaps it's the waking up radio often for data that's hitting the standby time. I think FB app is the one that does the most damage.

Purple fringing due to lens. Some software can remove it but not all can be removed.

I'll keep an eye on MIUI forum and see if xiaomi releasing a fix for this in the next update. hmm.gif

*
I'd try pasar malam lol. Usually going for RM10 per piece.

I bought mine from hirota here at garage sales for my redmi 3. He also sell for the note 3 too. Mine one week already no sign of scratch let alone crack. biggrin.gif

I got through 2 days of usage.. Around 6h+ SOT and mostly on mobile data..

And signal strength is bad here in East Malaysia..
*
If you hook to WiFi most of the time you can expect 8-9 hours of sot, or more... biggrin.gif
