If i'm not mistakened, LCCI is equivalent to a diploma in accountancy. If you just want to know the basics of accountancy, then i guess LCCI is the way to go. It takes only 1 year to complete if i'm not mistakened.

Depending on what are you working as, you can perhaps consider Management based course instead? Coz LCCI and ACCA are both accounting courses. May not be relevant to what you're doing. But hey, it's always good to improve yourself right?

LCCI is never an equivalent to a diploma in accountancy. At best, you get 2 semester exemptions for diploma in accountancy. LCCI is a professional certificate equivalent to foundation level studies.

It depends on what you want to be. To be an accounts clerk: take the LCCI.

To be an accountant, and MIA member: take the ACCA

To know more about business: take a diploma in business or even some short courses. Better still, read business books.
