henry sir, i wanna ask u something abt the D70. how do i take indoor portrait photo with proper skin tone ar? mine alwis come out a bit greyish or blueish. i set the white balance to fluorescence light de.

jus auto WB?? but auto WB the colour of yellow in places where yellow light is present show VERY VERY yellow wor....
any other ideas wad i can do? henry ask me to post proc with tone curve...

If you're having problems only with indoor photography then tone cure processing might affect the rest of your shots. It's not a permanent solution. If yellow tint is your problem then Tungsten Mode WB is your only solution. Manual colour temperature setting (Kelvin) is another way but that is another camera model already brows.gif

i think i'll learn how to bear wit it... or mayb how to get a better shot. i think more practise is important! however, my problem is the blueish/grayish colour of the skin tone....erm... already change to fluorescence de....

is this the main problem wit the D70s ? or... the problem is ME... hahahaha

Comment: Very close up but hard to focus even use MF and AF. A bit like Raynox's feel. Will test it with my 105mm VR f2.8 Micro tomorrow.

Tested with 50mm f1.8

malaysia is a small country...so not much ppl will know the existence of this country but with the unique structure of the KLCC and the KL tower...it actually can tell the world where KL,malaysia is....when ppl see KLCC or KL tower...ppl know malaysia.... nod.gif

There is nothing in Malaysia to shout about as far as photography is concerned : The market sucks, the business sucks, ppl pay top dollars for photographic service overseas. Over here, everyone is "Why so expensive one ... charge lower-lar" instead is "Money no problem, I want GOOD quality, I want GOOD service!!"

Comment: After the busy work, finally i can relax myself at a beautiful beach - Teluk Cempedak. Even at nite, still have a lot of ppl paktoh / lepak there. I went there with 2 of my collegues. Just nothing better to do. The orange light from our back make the sand bcome orange... I love the original feel...

It's not so much about Simon Yam, it's about the cost of migration : Sell one old Nikon lens can get one L-lens liao, sell a grip can get a 430EX flash, sell one body can get a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 ... what else one wishes for. All used items but few months old, worth migrating what. What you have in the end is supreme image quality and good harware brows.gif

I dun blame you all actually ... apparently I realised that all this poisoning started ever since I joined LYN. Being a Canon believer user myself I am still not as aggressive as some of my peers whom still defend the Canon brand up to the last drop of blood. I dun see that as somewhat logical at some point becoz it's not the brand that makes the image, it's the owner. I made my choice for Canon when I turned digital years back and up till today I still have no regret.

Choosing the right brand is so easy for beginners becoz budget is always the primary factor. For my case, I waited years before Canon finally came up with the EOS 300D, mainly due to budget. It wasn't a hard choice after all, I knew Canon had a camera for me.

EOS 1D okay what ... 'kau-kau tei' (abit old) but it was the BEST DSLR ever produced during its time, even the pricetag was the best ... Rm26,000 body only! I didnt' buy the camera at that price of course.

If you seen one at the shop, it's definitely the EOS 1D Mark II or Mark IIN. The EOS 1D is the September 2001 model, much heavier than the current models! It weights about 1.2kg without battery and CF card.

Problem is this is where I get confuse at times. WHAT are the important ones? Acriflavin? Iodin solution? Cotton buds also so many types : Round ones, flat thin ones, or round coloured ones, like sotong balls, haha! How long does Acriflavin last? Oitment better or solution better? Can mosquito repelant stop other insects like spiders and cockroaches or creepy crawlies like leeches or centipedes? Dun look down on first aid, especially when you go shooting in jungles, parks or wildlife expeditions. The only thing 'wild' now is the models getting all wet and transparent tongue.gif

Hahaha ... I can be so noob at times laugh.gif

You sure it's shot at 12mm? Coz I remember Ahleong's 18mm more bengkok than this. Dun believe me you can check his wedding pics if got chance, those 'yum seng' shots I did at V-Garden Restaurant is more distorted than yours, unless you cropped it.

Definately don't have Image Stabilizer or Optical Stabilizer...
And thanks for the tips of shoot landscape...

I think they use normal net... not wire... no electricity punya...
Bat don have eye ma, and the wave it produce will pass thru the hole of the net...

what i refer to skin tone is that i see patches of different color on her face.
the eye, cheek and side all different color.
but that just my opinion lar.

maybe is due to lighting condition there not processing.

But I'm not pro in PP lar, just do what i feel nice.
i can show different kind of layer of different effect and you all apply it in your photos. it can have multiple of layers... experiment it and you soon find what suite you.

Waiting for the D200's replacement seems like forever and D200 is too long in the market liao ...
If the coming 40D comes with DIGIC III, 5fps, 3.0" LCD and weather-sealed, would you JUMP or not? brows.gif

Abit disappointed ... thought the ISO would start from 50 instead, more than 100MP but still 'low noise' not 'no noise'. Adapts with other lenses means ...? No AF? tongue.gif

Travel no 2nd shoot one... Blur mean u cant reshoot liao...
I know can see in LCD, but LCD tipu orang punya... I think u know what i mean... tongue.gif

hai yoh... you use ISO1600 sure noisy mah.

Next time try not to use ISO over 800, if can.
try to reduce your shutter speed.
If you use your 18-200 VR, i think shutter speed as low as 1/15s still can get reasonable sharp pic.
other lens have to depend on how steady you can hold lor.
Until you have no choise then only use ISO1600
Actually i don't see much problem with your pic here.
If your print 4R the noise is not that serious.
Anyway you can reduce the noise by using Ninja Noise or Neat Image.

In other countries it's difficult to ask ppl for a direct shot unless you know the person very well, like a Vietnamese friend or what. What about a close-up candid? That's why you have a telephoto zoom brows.gif
