Hi everyone, finally completed my reno and moved in 2 weeks ago, just free up my time to put things together. Firstly, I would like to thank my contractor and carpenter as they've helped solved/rectified various problems and also gave new ideas that made this journey possible. Also a big hug for my wife who had contributed her ideas and effort.

After hearing so many horror stories of rogue contractor, I'm blessed to have engaged both of them.

Main contractor that worked on major reno work such as plaster ceiling, hacking, wiring, window grille, plumbing is from (L IMAGE INTERIOR CONTRACT - JIMMI), easy going guy and had plenty of new ideas, my concrete wall idea came from him as well.

For carpentry work I've choosen (HOMEMARK KITCHEN CABINET - SAM) because I've seen many good reviews from members here and their workmanship looks good after a visit to their office/showroom.

Do note HOMEMARK KITCHEN CABINET had rename their company to BESPOKE KITCHEN SDN BHD.

My unit build up is around 1450sq ft, consist of 3 bedrooms, 1 maid's room and 3 bathrooms. Will convert 1 bathroom next to wet kitchen and maid's room for storage. Cut the story short, here are my humble reno pix.

The usual defective checks and planning begins. Placed red tapes to mark out where my furniture should be so it's easier to get an estimation of remaining space. Below are photos of my progress

This wall has a lot of potential because it's the longest wall in the unit so I thought why not go for concrete look, check around for faux concrete slab and artisan feature wall coating that gives you this cement effect but both were too expensive, ranging from 14.00rm - 40.00rm psf. Then Jimmi suggested why not strip away the paint, to see what's underneath? I told him to proceed after some consideration since there's nothing to lose.

After chipping away layers of paint and skim coat, we realised it's a pre-cast cement base. Splendid! finally can get that industrial concrete wall that I always wanted. So here comes my Industrial Theme design.

Times are bad, no money hire interior designer, had to do own homework, lots of research. This is my el cheapo sketch, brick wall and scissors grille for the effect. Friends said I'm crazy to put such grille inside the unit, I thought why not right? Can act as partition to cut down "Chi" from main entrance (Fengshui stuff) plus give the unit some character.

This is my shoes cabinet. All carpentry done by BESPOKE CABINET SDN BHD formerly knows as HOMEMARK KITCHEN CABINET. Sam is a great guy to work with, great patience, attitude and friendly.

My beloved scissor collapsible grille from THREE KIM METAL WORKS. Very good quality.

Living area. Using back my old sofa of 7 years from Cellini, still in good shape.

Balcony. Eames rocking chairs from TAOBAO + Outdoor decking from Ikea.

Dining table, custom made from JOMECO + TOLIX armchair from TAOBAO.

Next is my dry kitchen. Black chalk board paint on left wall, still planning what to do with it, maybe draw sumthing or put a painting.

Nothing fanciful, just white and green 4G glass combination and quartz counter top.

Panasonic 4G glass 450L fridge.

Cabinet light from TAOBAO with touch sensor.

Wet kitchen, combination of 4G glass doors for top cabinet and melamine for bottom. Using Fotile hood, Rubine built-in oven, Rinnai Hob.

Bedroom entrance. Just in case if you wanna know, that T bar is for my pull-up.

Common washroom, nothing special, minor work done. Budget blown

Master Bedroom, King size divan bed from Harvey Norman. Venetian blinds above raise wall to act as partition.

Shower area. Again nothing much was done here, only added shower screen and shampoo/shower gel dispenser. By now I'm officially broke.

Lastly this is my guest room. Same wardrobe as Master room, now waiting to see who wanna buy this poor mattress a outfit. Anyone???

Haha...just replicating that concept and feel, no stairs. No problem with countertop fitting into lift because they came in 2 pieces for each kitchen. Venetian blinds not effective for corner windows btw, too many gaps thus lights can get thru.

Master bath gave me the most headaches, reason for 2 mirrors is to purposely hide 2 unsightly windows behind, can't seal it with full mirrors because the need to run exhaust fan through these windows, gaps behind mirrors helps with air ventilation. When its time to clean these exhaust fan, removing one mirror at a time is easier due to weight issues.

Counter top area will be too cramp to put 2 basin therefore have to make do with one. Making the best out of these situation. May consider putting a single long rectangular mirror next time, just need to mount brackets behind and hook them onto bars.

Bought 2 of these mirrors for RM360.00 from Viva Home, quite cheap in my opinion.

Area covered 1100 sqf, including skirting & foam. Job not done by Kronoswiss installer but my contractor, he purchased laminate materials from supplier. From what I've heard he undercharged me because price should be ard 12.00 - 13.00rm psf.

Other brands had quoted me price between 6-8k but only 8mm and no V groove, wood prints ain't attractive therefore opt for Kronoswiss.

Ya...price around there, you can find it at Kuan Hoi Trading Sdn Bhd (Use Waze - Jalan Tuanku 1) or Eco-Style Trading Sdn Bhd @ Jalan Ipoh. Remember to buy extra inner tube for future standby in case one of it spoil.

That table and bench is expensive, I wanted to do away with the bench but wife said since custom, might as well do it. Table is around 5K and bench around 2.2K. Vomit blood....

Much appreciated. Everyone can do it if they put enough research time into it.

Borrowed a oscillating electric cutter for the job, was using heavy duty cutter initially but too much effort. Another method is to leave gaps then fill it up with pebbles.

Oak wood.

No problem at all. Laminate feels solid and comfortable on the feet.

Door definitely need to make adjustment. With 12mm increased in height, must alter door's height. All these settled by installer.
