MBB doesnt know what is your outstanding amount from CIMB. M2U is not that all powerful and intelligent to link with ALL the banks to check each card's outstanding everytime someone initiate the Balance Transfer.

So, you're free to enter any amount that you like, as long as not exceeding the 80-90% of available credit from your MBB card.

The BT amount transferred to your MBB card is considered as PAYMENT. If you transfer > current outstanding, you'll get -ve (excess) amount in your CIMB card. upcoming expenses/statement will be slightly offset by the excess.

You basically tell MBB how much you want, they initiate the payment (on your behalf) to CIMB. that's all it is.
