Previously I did BT using Public Bank credit card to Maybank credit card, and then requested the money to transfer to my Maybank savings. The process was smooth and it was only 8k.

What if it involves 20k this time? Will Maybank still allow me to transfer to savings just with a phone call? What about RHB? Anyone with experience with RHB?

Maybank allowed me to transfer 30K (BT from Ambank) to my saving account. But, It took more than 1 week to credit this amount of money into my saving account. (was explained by Premier CS that it normally take up to 10 working days)

anyone know any other bank besides Maybank allow me to refund overpayment(BT)?
*
Good to know. Think 9 or 10 working days is their standard reply. The last time I did 8k was quite fast, at most a week.

1. You should not apply higher than your max transfer limit.

2. No problem to BT your Aeon Balance to MBB. The banks are all independent of each other. Just make sure you settle your instalments for both BTs on time.

I need advice. I just received my Ambank card recently and they have 12 months BT promotion for new card holder, maximum RM30k.

I plan to utilize the whole RM30K and BT to my Maybank credit card, then request the credit balance to be transferred to my Maybank savings account. Have you done something like this with Maybank? Will they ask a lot of question if the amount is RM30K?

I also want to share that I have bad experience with RHB. Recently I BT from PBB card to RHB credit card for RM24K. RHB made it very hard for me to request the money out to my RHB savings account. They say amount is big and need to investigate because maybe money laundering bla bla bla.... After writing to BNM to complain (BNM replied yesterday after 5 working days), finally I got my money in my RHB savings account today. The whole process almost one month, not to mention with all the frustration (calls to RHB CS, keep saying still processing). So, I don't think it is a good idea to use RHB for this purpose.

Refunding excess credit in CC to CASA is easy for MBB & HLB by jsut calling the CS. Slightly more effort for PBB as it needs proof of BT. Difficult for SCB.

I have experience once with MBB but that time amount is only RM8K. I plan to do RM30K now and a bit worried. What was the biggest amount that you tried before?

I have done several times with MBB, but the highest was only RM16k, and that one I needed to write an e-mail and send proof of my balance transfer form.

Since then, my strategy has always been to keep each request below RM10k, which I believe is the amount they can authorise via phone without an e-mail.

For example, about 4 months ago I had a RM20k credit (from PBB) sitting on my MBB CC (after paying off the outstanding balances on all my MBB cards). I split this into 3 requests. I first asked for RM7k via phone, waited for it to be paid into account. Then I requested another RM7k...and repeated the whole process again. This may not be the "best" way, but it worked for me. They never asked questions about why I made so many requests. I think they deal with each separately, rather than looking at past history.

These few months I rarely have huge excess credits, because I use the "revolving BT" method - where I have several BTs all paying off each others' instalments.

Perhaps guy3288 can share his experience. His BT strategy is pretty impressive, and he may be able to give you better insight.

Advice taken. I just called just now for the RM30K to be spread out to 4 different cards involving MBB, HLB and PBB.

Just a note for doing the bal trf refund from CC to CASA when dealing with Hong Leong.

I did RM9k recently and I have use up maybe 300 in my credit card. When I called the CS she said can only transfer 8.7k for me and not to use the CC until the whole refund process is completed, if not the system cannot zerorise the CC account and will auto reject. The whole refund took just 3 business days. But interestingly, she also said "this overpayment is just a mistake and not a balance transfer from other banks right? If not the request will be rejected also". Of course I just say ya it was a mistake and that was it.

did you tried let say 9k over payment at Maybank visa and another 9k over payment at Maybank amex to proceed refund to CASA at the same time?
*
I once had overpayment 8k to Maybank master and 9k to Maybank amex. I requested one at a time to transfer to CASA ie only after I see the 9k in my CASA, then only I call again to request for the remaining 8k.

guys, when did overpayment(BT) we able to cash it out from CC to CASA? (noob question)
*
Yes. But I suggest you use Maybank and don't do over 10k.
The last time I tried HLB and they did ask whether it is BT overpayment, and I replied no.
They seems to be getting stricter, not only them but I suspect most banks are stricter now.

Does MBB allow BT overpayment? Presume MBB require submission of credit card statement for BT application ?

Unless they practise like PBB, which does not require credit card statement for BR application and thus BT overpayment is possible.

Any other banks apart from PBB do not require credit card statement for BT application ?
*
What I meant was I submitted BT application from other banks to overpay my MBB cc and then request the money to MBB CASA.

The only BT application I did before without needing statememt is PBB (6 mths 0% promo) and Ambank (for new cardholder 12 mths 0%).

Thanks for the prompt response. If BT more than 10k, just need to show to the bank the source of fund is from BT application from, then no issue of transferring from Cc to Casa, right?
*
I never do more than 10k per MBB card (I have 3) so I can't answer you on this. I follow other forumers' advice to play safe.

From your experience, how long did MBB take to refund back the 3% charge?

Guys, normally how long took for mbb to transfer back the overpayment to casa account? I called to request and they said might take up to 10 working days..
*
It used to be 8 working days max, if you are lucky then slightly faster.
Btw, how much is the amount u request to transfer this time? Did they ask for any reason why got credit balance?

The last reply here indicated that PBB is rather reluctant to refund already.

We shall wait for more replies before finding out.

Nobody tried for RHB yet? laugh.gif
*
I tried RHB before and they rejected it after a few working days.
I called to appeal and they still rejected it, again after a few working days.
At last I sent a complaint email to BNM and CC RHB.
Finally got my money but whole process took 1 month.
So, my advice is don't try as not worth the hassle.

Can refund back to the originating source of BT?

RHB is a little lousy alright. I accepted that fact quite a while ago laugh.gif

Not sure because I insisted they refund to my RHB savings.

May i know you applied using your islamic or conventional card?

I applied on Tues using my islamic card. Till now also no news on approval / rejection.
*
For Maybank Islamic, I had experience where they took 4 working days to approve.
The fast approval was conventional card.
