QUOTE(Gabriel03 @ Dec 31 2018, 11:16 AM) At the moment, you have 9.7k in outstanding and 31.6k in autorised charge. Therefore, the all card balance shows that you have used 41.4k. From the 50k credit limit, you have only 8.5k left. The amount that you can BT is 80% from your available credit : 0.8 X 8.5k = 6.8k |

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Jan 24 2019, 03:21 PM) I just use the calculator from https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/...-calculator.php or https://www.rapidtables.com/calc/finance/ef...calculator.html Thanks for kind replyNot to mention, you're paying back by installments every month, so it costs you even more. I adjusted the total repayment based on interest + installment is the calculation correct? I still dont understand the links you shared. Attached File(s)

QUOTE(RickRick88 @ Jan 24 2019, 04:52 PM) For 30k, the interest payable is 8%x3yrx30k = RM7.2k, the phone merely subsidising about 35-40% of the interest. but this PBB BT offers with huawei mate 20pro still better offers compare my recent Citi Quick cash for 36 months with RM288 cash back![]() ![]() On second thought, if compare 30k among, about the same pulak This post has been edited by peri peri: Jan 24 2019, 05:38 PM |

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Jan 24 2019, 05:44 PM) The calculators I gave is to get the Effective Interest Rate which is given by Citi. 0% yes, i manoeuvre them for better return. but not those with interest charges or one time chargeUnless you can make returns higher than approx 8% p.a. like buy property or speculate in the stock market, you lose more than you earn. If the phone covers back 50% of your interest, by paying installments monthly and putting the excess into promotional FD (4.x%), you still lose. Eh I thought you already know all this? You always say want to maximize your BT/cash advance. I thought you had plans to make money out of them. 8% difficult to make money. just now HLB sms me cash for One time charge from 1.68% nowaday banks very desperate |

![]() for case study Loan 30k tenure 36 months cash back rm288 repayment RM 938.71 Actual interest rate per annum should be, = total interest for 36 months after Rm288 cb, nett is RM 3505 = RM 3505 / Rm 30000 = 11.68 % / 3 years = 3.89 % p.a my calculation correct? shouldn't deemed as 8% or 7.9% EIR, as long my annum return for this rm30k can more than 4% is doable redi |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Jan 24 2019, 06:12 PM) Yeh I got the same 1.68% SMS, but will never take up these offers unless 0%. Much better to use CL for 0% BT or flexi pay. many started discontinuing for 0% offer, missed the good old daysQUOTE(beLIEve @ Jan 24 2019, 06:14 PM) You're not paying back one lumpsum after 3 years. You're paying back by installments every month. That's when the EIR kicks in. thanks for your kind explanation. so many detailing to consider for. no wonder loan always a trap if not understand wellIf you play Fixed Deposit, and using the same 3.89% example and 1 year. You put in that 30k for 1 year and get 3.89% interest. In between 1 year, you don't get back any of your 30k. With the BT, you give the bank 30k/12 every month and still pay 3.89% interest. That's where you "lose" money. |

my trick for my BT always transfer surplus to my home flexi acc temporary. When enough funds from BT achieved, will try transfer to my ASNB. But flexi still giving better saving in term of compounding home mortgage by general. last year FD rate was offered around 3.3%, this year about 4.4%.
Those have higher salary earner, normally they will be offered premier account service with an exclusive financial advisor (hot OL). |
