Limit is much higher than the combined BT amount. Anyone here did BT to UOB before?

This is the normal expected one with proper 5% min payment

THis is similar to what I've for BT Plus last time with HLB.. that one I can BT to my CASA instead of other bank credit card.. every month I just pay the minimum payment until the 6th month, I must settle full on 6th statement date.. cannot be earlier or later as they got early settlement fee if u settle earlier than the 6th statement date, else it will be interest charge if u settle later than that.. for my case, my statement date is 3rd, I settle full on 4th, no interest charge..

but shouldn't the regular rule apply? I mean as long as I pay before due date (which is usually about 20 days after statement date) ok d ma. Why need to pay on statement date?

For others info.

My Affin BT has been approved. They take aboue 3 working days to process the request. Quite fast I would say.

I only need to provide a screenshot of my outstanding balance.

Send to those numbers like 66038 or something. But I think they have ways to filter out if you're not invited by the bank for the promotion.
*
yes. i nvr heard anyone succeed by doing this way before. have u? maybe not enough people trying.

Yes, the super duper important item in HLB BT is the special 0% interest "EXPIRY DATE"!!! [Record this down !!!]
I had real life experience and would like to share below:
The Expiry Date will be notified upon BT approval over phone; and printed on 5th statement (I missed that!!) as mentioned by ronnie.

Follow this for no interest charged:
E.g. Stmt Date = 1st; Due Date = 21st. First stmt date= 1-Oct-16; last stmt due date= 21-Mar-17; Expiry Date= 1-Mar-17.
Pay 5% of outstanding before Due Date (21st) for the first 5 months.
Pay (all outstanding - RM50) before the 6th STATEMENT DATE (which is the EXPIRY DATE), i.e. 1-Mar-17.
Pay the last RM50 on Expiry Date + 1day.

I was charged 18% interest as I was aiming to pay (All - RM50) by 21st for the final month (21-Mar-17).
I was lucky to find out about this deadly EXPIRY DATE on 2-Mar-17 (one day after expiry).
HLB said if pay all today (since it is Expiry+1day) will be no interest charged.
Long story short, I IBFT all on 6-Mar-17, and got charged 4 days interest (2nd to 5th Mar).

I am now on a new BT offer, HLB advise leave RM50 before the Expiry Date, and pay the RM50 on Expiry+1day.
Not too complicated after all, but painful lesson. All in all, still gain from the FD interest.  icon_rolleyes.gif  thumbsup.gif

mamamia, were you able to leave only RM5 for the last payment? I was advise to leave RM50 by HLB.

wow.. like this kind of trap also can do.. if not careful n buta-buta follow the past 5 month due date sure kena one.

really appreciate the sharing. i will becareful with my hlb bt

In fact I was really lucky that they called to offer me a new BT one day after the expiry.... through the call I discovered my last BT suppose to clear all on that day to avoid interest.
I was fussed on why the final payment not follow due date. After some arguement, they went listen back the call log and told me they have informed me about the expiry date and also printed on 5th stmt.

In fact I had already applied Aeon BT to cover the final big payment on that very same day. I known Aeon is still using cheque, but should still able to meet due date. Hence I got to sacrifice some GIA-I special 6mth interest to quickly IBFT over. And request refund after Aeon's cheque cleared on 10-Mar-17, otherwise kena 9 days interest. Kinda mess up my normal cashflow.

Yes, set all the reminders you could for this Expiry Date.

is that an on going pattern of offering fresh BT after the previous one ended? hmm.gif

Looking back my records, my first BT was in April 2014. Through the 3 years, with crisscrossed BTs every months among PBB, MBB, Aeon, HLB, UOB, Affin and Alliance. I have snowballed to 30 active BTs right now with ~250k total BT and ~40k monthly repayment.  shocking.gif  sweat.gif

My spreadsheets are getting busier by the days, not to mention tracking down to the dues and payments; follow through the overpayments and refunds  tongue.gif; balancing between total outstanding and FDs; and advance calculation of available CL to enable projected BTs.  rclxub.gif

Like the two rounds of HLB BT I took on, I have the complete 6 months repayment projection from the start to end, upon BT application. From there I can time it to roll the final 75% (5% for the first 5 months) into the half-yearly Aeon BT cycle. That's why with the unexpected Expiry Date issue, it hit my projected cashflow. Anyway I gained a lot of new knowledge via the incident.  thumbsup.gif  I will share them with the right relevancy.
