hi guys...not familiar with BT...wanna ask..can i balance transfer where BT amount > outstanding amount for that particular card?

Or BT amount must be same as outstanding balance. Please advise.
*
Some FI (aeon) requires statement, therefore cannot BT more than the outstanding amount.
Others do not need statements (eg maybank, hsbc), so yes BT amount can go above outstanding amount.

I read there is nobody talking about BSN credit card.. its offering 0% interest and no processing fee charge for BT also right ?
*
The one i read in BSN website is no fee charged, 0% bt for first 6 month but subsequent month has interest.
Can share which link you are referring to which may really give 0% BT throughout tenure?

Any sifu had applied ambank 12 mths 0% balance transfer? Can share your experience how long they took to process?
*
Bro, i just called to ask, the SLA is 7-14 working days to send funds to the other bank. Not sure if any other bros can share real life experience though. Since SLA is quite long (14 working days is 3 calendar weeks, better be sure the other card won't get due and charged interests)

QUOTE(scfans @ Mar 2 2017, 01:13 PM)
Read further the FAQ from that link. There is no 100% 0% BT for BSN

QUOTE

Enjoy ZERO interest rates for up to 1 year by transferring your outstanding credit card balance to BSN Balance Transfer Programme!

How does this BSN balance transfer programme work?
BSN Balance Transfer Programme offers repayment periods of up to 36 months, or a maximum of 3 years. To enjoy the 0% interest rate, you’ll have to take part in the 12 and 24 months balance transfer plans.

For the 12-month plan, you'll enjoy 0% interest on the first 6 months, and a low 0.30% per month for the final 6 months.

Similarly, for the 24-month plan, the 0% interest is applicable for the first 12 months, with 0.375% interest per month charged for the next 12 months.

Hi guys,

My BT from my Maybank to HSBC has been approved last Monday and the money has been debit to my maybank CC but unfortunately i still not received my cc. Last friday got sms the card will deliver within 10 working days but until today still dont get it. Is it something that i should worry about (missing the deadline for 1st payment)?
*
As per rapple said, call the bank and ask.
But usually 1st repayment date will be in a month later. And i even get sms notification on when i need to pay, amount, and another sms notification when my payment reaches hsbc. Efficient.

Maybe is due to my over payment very much, until available balance more than my credit limit. tongue.gif

My MBB Credit Limit is 20k only. I total overpaid 30k. So system error, unable to calculate the available amount to BT as it more than the amount it supposed to. dry.gif

I thought you will ask for refund if excess to savings acct? smile.gif

hi all.. will BT affect our CTOS and CCRIS score?
*
Hi, yes confirm will impact the score. I have recently read a lot on credit rating / scoring , they call it FICO score. Try to find materials on that to understand how the score is roughly derived.
Then do your own calculations if it is worth to do all these BTs, if you have a choice that is. If your question comes because BT is a way to lower your financial burdens, by all means go ahead (with caution)

Just a little update. HLB rejected my request to transfer overpayment. Previously they mention that they ok to transfer back to the originating bank CASA, but today i received a call not allow due to originating payment is from another credit card. So just keep this in mind....
*
Thanks for letter us know. So I guess the money is now stuck in credit card and can only be treated as 'advance payment' ...

Well the banks effectively 'locked' your money and ensure that you will eventually spend that amount. Clever move.

Since I paid RM 18k for my recent hotel stay in Mumbai (will be reimbursed by company) and my AEON cards are so under utilized these days, I have decided to BT from Citibank (my corporate credit card) to AEON 0% for 6 months. tongue.gif

I hope it's a wise move. laugh.gif

Just remember to pay the BT installments on tim and it will be a brilliant move.

Thank you for the explanation. Its very clear.

I think this strategy works best only if the 1st BT is a large amount...

This also works for individuals who have big spendings every month too

Hi Friends, want to ask about MBB 0% BT, will a new account number created for my BTs?
I read that we can do multiple BTs as long as the CL allows.
If i do 1 BT this month say RM6K, then i will need to pay rm500 per month for 12 months
If next month i BT another 6K, does it just adds up to the BT account that i need to pay up?
I am thinking to continuously do monthly BT but if there are separate BT accounts to take care then it may be too much of a hassle to do it

No new BT account will created for MBB BT plan (!2-month). The BT amount will be divided by 12 and posted on Statement Date of your MBB card.
Each approved BT will be separate line charged monthly

Noted with thanks Ronnie.
Looks clean and tidy then smile.gif

While i have joined the BT offer for new customers recently and doing revolving BT as well, I agree with tbheng and lilsunflower that once you get the hang of it, it is not so difficult to manage the repayments etc.
My further observation from doing this, for sharing purposes:
1. The challenge is to keep track of how much 'benefit' each dollar brings to us by doing resolving BT etc. when we pay BT to BT, the amount gets complicated
2. Do backup planning in case you cannot perform banking transactions, for instance, hospitalized. The amount we are playing around is big (and attractive) - big gain big risk (if we miss any repayment due to unforeseen circumstances)
Cheers

I just did BT from HSBC to MBB 0% 12 month... that to pay off my monthly HSBC BT Amount tongue.gif
Since HSBC does not create a new BT account and is using the credit card account, the BT is successful.
However I tried the same for my Alliance BT account but it failed card number validation check, since Alliance creates a separate BT account sad.gif
sharing:
1. Alliance CS told me, for their BT program, the final month repayment will not incur interest as long as we pay before due date (I explained to her on HLB final month payment on statement date - she confirm Alliance is not the case)
2. The banks that does not create new BT account - we can BT from another bank to to pay off the monthly BT due amount tongue.gif
3. anyone knows if Ambank and Public Bank will create a new BT account or use back the same credit card number?
