Just a little update. HLB rejected my request to transfer overpayment. Previously they mention that they ok to transfer back to the originating bank CASA, but today i received a call not allow due to originating payment is from another credit card. So just keep this in mind....

QUOTE(justanovice @ Mar 20 2017, 04:57 PM) Thanks for letter us know. So I guess the money is now stuck in credit card and can only be treated as 'advance payment' ... Ya just sharing my experience as a warning to others. Yes so the credit now stucked there. I will start charging some of my transaction in there to "cash out" the money.

QUOTE(stargate8 @ Mar 20 2017, 05:46 PM) wow what a if yours is wise card, then monthly 2k spending should be fine... thanks for the heads up... its essential card... QUOTE(ratedrko @ Mar 20 2017, 06:25 PM) can you just threaten to cancel the card outright and demand that they return the money to you? FWIW, UOB asked me politely not to overpay the last time I attempted to transfer out my negative balance (I have done this like 3 times already). Not sure if they will attempt to block me in the future, in which case I am prepared to cancel my card immediately. I use the card large purchases, i dont want to cancel it. I can find some use for it, it just takes time... I was hoping it can be quicker with a transfer request. This post has been edited by WhitE LighteR: Mar 20 2017, 08:10 PM

QUOTE(DatukD @ Mar 22 2017, 02:38 PM) Hello All, Need some advice from sifus here. I still have an outstanding of RM15000 for SC credit card (paying more than minimum payment, probably will take a year to finish off). And i need around 35K to finish out my house reno (cant drag further as wasting too much money on house rents). So , Questions : a) is it wise to take a personal loan of 50K from a bank and pay off the credit card balance and use the balance of 35K on house reno? If yes, is it doable? b) Or just take 35K personal loan, service it monthly and continue paying credit card as normal Any comments, ideas would be much appreciated. Many thanks choose whichever course of action that can lower interest.

QUOTE(theanswerL2 @ Mar 31 2017, 05:50 PM) you checkc back mbb website. capping 7.2million bt amount for 3% waived. if your nex month statement did not rebate back the 3% amount. which mean you get charge for 3% processing fee. i hope they will disable the option once the 7.2M is reached. Abit cruel to let people continue on thinking they its still a valid promo and later finding out its over.

my UOB BT payment is messed up coz of auto apportion. They split the payment but dont know using what ratio or formula. The CS also cant tell me. Anyone know?
Now my YOLO card payment is short by about 50. Im affraid if i do another payment to YOLO for the shorted balance it will do another split again. But CS say wont. I try now and see how tomorrow the result. I ask her to disable the auto apportion thing. Still need 4 days to process while my due is this Friday.

QUOTE(ytan053 @ Apr 7 2017, 02:06 PM) Got messed up once in Feb 2017 when I BT from UOB while haveing 2 UOB cards with balance. According to the CS, they will pay off the minimum balance in each card then only settle the remaining amount in the CC that you want to pay. E.g. you have UOB CC 1 with balance RM500 and UOB CC 2 with balance RM800. When you do BT RM800 into UOB CC 2, UOB will take RM50 and pay off the minimum balance in UOB CC 1, then the balance of RM750 to UOB CC 2. So your balance unpaid for UOB CC 1 and UOB CC 2 is RM450 and RM750 each. I saw from another post that you can make a 1 short payment to one of the UOB CC, then call CS to transfer the overpayment of that one UOB CC to another UOB CC. Have not tried that but I think it should be able to work that way. Thank you for your feedback. Very good info to know. I think in case of UOB in the future i will jst call earlier to disable auto apportion. This post has been edited by WhitE LighteR: Apr 7 2017, 02:25 PM

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Apr 13 2017, 10:04 PM) Haha. Well hope you're getting good returns on your BT, and also being careful to meet all payment deadlines! My BT instalments are now 2x my monthly salary largely because I do the revolving BT strategy i.e. Using BT to pay BT, so it's not "real" expenditure, but just extending the repayment. Currently 4 PBB BTs, 4 MBB BTs, 1 Aeon and 1 HSBC. As a precaution I make sure my FDs can fully cover my outstanding BT. I keep detailed spreadsheets for both to ensure no overspending and no late payments. can share with us abiit on how is your revolving BT strategy?

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Apr 14 2017, 12:07 PM) Nothing complicated. For example, if I have 60k BTs with AEON and PBB, I have to pay 10k per month each (total 20k). So I apply for MBB BT for 24k (to include my other expenses), and this clears one month instalment on PBB and Aeon. But now my MBB will have 2K per month. Because of timing issues, I will apply for another MBB BT to cover the next month PBB and Aeon.. So send up with 4k per month to pay to MBB. And I will then apply PBB to clear MBB. It's complicated to explain, but the gist is that I will keep trying to time my BT applications to clear each other so I don't need to pay the instalments so quickly. Can only do for MBB and PBB as Aeon is restricted to once every 6 months. Thank you for the explanation. Its very clear. I think this strategy works best only if the 1st BT is a large amount...

QUOTE(CalvinCLK @ Apr 14 2017, 01:00 PM) Did UOB 6 mth 0% BT end of last month and received statement yesterday. But the statement didn't state the monthly installment, instead it shows minimum amount close to the full BT amount. Any clue please? Thanks. [attachmentid=8730506] Your two BT combine is over your limit? Maybe their system not able to calculate properly? Better call CS This post has been edited by WhitE LighteR: Apr 14 2017, 01:54 PM
