I am currently with Maxis Surfmore50. With the latest video from Maxis, it is obvious that Maxis is no longer have any interest for cheap packages enhancement. So I am opening this topic since I am stucked between Digi 48 and Umobile U28

After long study this is the conclusion I made

Digi 48
100 minutes calls/sms
3gb + 1gb rollover
Monthly commitment - RM50.88 (inc GST)

Umobile U28
50 minutes calls
200 sms
3gb internet
Monthly commitment - RM29.68 (inc GST)

I am not including Celcom Blue at this point since I have another line with Celcom First Basic 38, so that's that.

i am always around within these areas

Kajang
Bangi
Nilai
Putrajaya/Cyberjaya
Sepang/KLIA

Occasionally KL

So guys, help me here - Digi48 or Umobile28

What about 3g/4g Lte

a) Coverage
b) Network stability
c) Speed 3g and 4g LTE

Thank you

If I were to add umobile P50 it would be this

5gb internet
50 minutes call + 50 minutes unused minutes
No SMS
Monthly commitment = RM53 (inc GST)

But to me since Umobile has this RM28 plan option, I would choose 28 but my concern is the coverage, the speed, the stability in the areas I mentioned in my first post. And as for Digi all the below RM48 plans has nothing to look for

I am having problem to understand prepaid packages from all providers. Seems nothing is actually cheap. I guess the maxis hotlink also has made some changes to their hotlink prepaid plans

I guess I am having hard time deciding between digi and umobile due to these

Digi having extra 1gb
Having extra 50 minutes call
Possibility of having better coverage and speed (which my major factor in comparing these 2 providers)

While umobile
I am so concern about the coverage and the speed quality and the fact that I know in my house, it isn't 1 of the LTE coverage for umobile right now, I have been reading some cust posts on their fb page about not getting calls and stuff
But the difference with the monthly commitment compared to digi is about RM20+ with umobile
having only 1gb less, and 50 minutes less call time (which does not really a major concern to me)

As others have suggested, nothing beats a real hands-on experience of the network quality by getting a prepaid starter pack to try out. DiGi best prepaid starter pack gives a 30 days try-out, U power prepaid is less at 10 days which should still suffice to try-out. Go ahead and address your concern first .....

Putting price aside, I think a DiGi line to compliment your existing Celcom line would be a good combo. I have both and usually both lines have me covered all the time in cases where one network have a certain blind spot or no coverage.

umobile started out focusing outside of klang valley first I noticed years back during 3g time, Nilai had awesome 3g speed back then, but it seems like they are changing game for LTE

I have to experience this myself obviously

regardless 3G or LTE, it uses the same cell tower. Either it is pre installed with LTE upgradable components/antennas or they will do it once they want that area to go LTE. So speed wise its up to their discreet.. plus they signed coverage handover agreement with Celcom so essentially those out of coverage from Umobile towers will hand over to Celcom network 3G.

Get a prepaid umobile and digi, roam around the areas u mentioned and see for yourself what kind of signal you get then decide.

I will try to start off with Umobile prepaid tomorrow/today. Just noticed umobile has this prepaid U38 which have 2gb internet +150 minutes calls + 30 sms, the unused minutes can carry forward so u might have accumulated call minutes up till 300 minutes!!! Just wow

Comparing that to my maxis surfless/call-less hopeless 50

Guys

I am planning to try out Umobile Prepaid before proceeding with my MNP. I must say after studying about the prepaid packages (I assume my understanding i correct), I am quite impress with the option.

However I just need to understand, if I buy Stater pack that going to cost me RM8.50. Then I want to choose for UMI20, I need to purchase them from Umobile App right? What happen if I just simply pirchase topup RM20 from Lazada? Will that still be UMI20?

Thank you

not so sure about that yet. there are still some features i found on umobile prepaid that is very interesting, but I am yet to test it...but one thing for sure

call forwarding is NOT available for Celcom Prepaid as well as Maxis Prepaid. But umobile allows it! That is definitely a +1

the end might be umobile prepaid VS umobile postpaid... hmm.gif hmm.gif

i guess for those 2 areas won't have much a problem for both providers...question is

blue RM45 - 50 minutes calls/sms, 2gb (monthly)+2gb (weekend) +2g (carry forward) - comes with 5% rebates for direct debit forever, for now

VS

Digi RM48 - 100 minutes calls/sms, 3gb (monthly) + 1gb (carry forward) - comes with 5% rebates for direct debit for 6 months

just the package alone then there shouldn't be any contract, unless you are taking the package with device

should be the same for any providers, contract will be applicable only when cust subscribes with device

but be highlighted the carry forward will only applicable if you have balance to be carried for next month, otherwise you will only have 2gb monthly + 2gb weekend (500 mb per weekend)

all the best

I am not that interested due to the off peak which I will never ever use. I would opt for Digi48 rather than this

Digi 48
100 minutes calls
100 sms
3gb + 1gb rollover
Monthly commitment
RM50.88 (inc GST)
