Hello guys, new user here.
Still learning to use the mapking software,
~realised you have to find a location, save it as POI(repeat this for another location), then only you can route it and simulate it, can't you find it and route it straight away?
~How to record ur track using Mapking? Meaning I want to record the roads I've passed.
~GPS Tracking was taking ages to be fixed, approximately 20mins+- lol. Got to try to use it more often.
~Battery drains like my fat hamter food ;D Noticed i've set the Brightness too high to be the cause.
~Regarding the charger, i found that PC usb charging is much faster than the normal charger, probably because I'm using the dopod charger. However dopod charger has the same output current as the original charger. Hmmmm. Anyone using dopod charger to charge?
~Just bought RM10 silicone casing. Good but the camera is not protected. blink.gif Looking forward to the CAPDASE silicone cover or the likes. Anybody using it? Good? How much and where can I get it in Malacca? Don prefer to use leather casing, find it troublesome and bulky. ;D

Nice to meet all the XI FUs here. notworthy.gif

1)Why need to save? Just find the location & Click the "GO!" button on top right.
2)Although there is a function to record tracks...but I hv not tried that..always comes wth error msg...who cares since u can't use the tracklog for contribution to Malsingmaps  :
3) The 20min to get GPS fix (not tracking) is probably due to the location u try to acquire the satelite...U need to stand in the open sky & not under a shade/house/trees or even those highrise beside u! GPS satelites is very weak & cannot penetrate thru buildings. Initial or cols start (after soft reseting -5min. Hard start ~1-2min..It's pretty normal for SirfIII chipset to acquire slowly compare wth those wth AGPS (Nokia/HP) but the accuracy is much better than those AGPS or even those wth 32/40 channeld MTK chipset!!
4) U need to change the brightness setting to only 3 bars..(I bet u the battery life of thsi is even better than my new Nokia 6120!!) - U need to switch off bluetooth/GPS & wifi too..those are the culprits. The battery on GPS can goes up to 5hours compare to 2 hours using Noika Maps + BT GPSr on Nokia 6120!!  sad.gif ..Standby time on idle witout running any BT/GPS/wifi is an astonishing 3 days!! much better than Nokia 6120!!
5) No idea on diff charger....but for sure the car charger is the fastest..Fully charged <1hr...wth GPS on probably 1.5Hr-2hr
6) Yes few of us using it....but for me, naked is better  biggrin.gif

1) Yeah tried it. Now I can search on the go!
2) IC, I wanted to see the roads I've passed. That's why i need to record it. Impossible using mapking? Or I got to use garmin in order to record my routes? unsure.gif
3) Ya, now i stand direct under sun sweat.gif and got my gps positioned in a few mins.
4) Changed to 2 bar. Still visible under sunlight. This improves the battery significantly. Besides, planning to buy 2400mAh battery and a docking charger from ebay. Anybody interested? brows.gif
5) Yeah car charger is fast. But using dopod charger to charge from 5% to 80% took 9+ hours. Then I realised the bluetooth is on... doh.gif
6) Ha, am afraid the flawless exterior will become flawfull. shakehead.gif Am still looking for a nice silicone case. nod.gif
7) Thanks for your help stimix, will join the malsing club as soon as I get my hands free. thumbup.gif

Recently bought Nokia N82 and try to transfer some files using bluetooth from P535 to N82. I managed to pair the devices successfully.
But how do you transfer a file to another phone? rclxub.gif
I tried to go to file explorer and choose the file to be SEND, the options are
~Text Messages
~MMS
~Windows Live
~Email

Anybody can tell me how to transfer a file using bluetooth? Blur la me lol. blush.gif

I get menu for transferring file "sending via bluetooth". Perhaps you need to pair your phone with you doing transferring file...

Ic, n82 is paired de but i still don see that option. Anyway, I manage to transfer the file via
Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Services > File Transfer (Finally found this option lol).

But something happen to my N82. Less than 24 hours i bought it the lcd display showing at least 10 lines. shakehead.gif Got to send for service de. Not even 1 day old. cry.gif
When i got my N82 b yesterday, can see the open marks de on the housing(guess they use something sharp to open the cover) doh.gif
Besides, the housing fitting is not properly fixed. Can see gaps! vmad.gif
Send b for service again. Heard they won change my housing although it's them that did the markings. Darn!

And the AGPS of N82 is rclxub.gif . Everytime need to connect to network(internet) or else I get blank map with a dot(gps location) on it. Receiving signal is far slower than P535. shakehead.gif

Still prefer my P535. Going strong flex.gif
