Hi Saffron,
Personally, I'd get Kingston. Didn't have a good experience with Sandisk.

Hi abubin,
Try Freshgear, PDA Expert or MTCS. These shops carry the full range of ASUS pdas. I'd go for Freshgear tho coz their after sales service is no 1.

To me, the P535 is the best choice as it's the only one using a SiRF Star III chipset. The rest are using some bullshit qualcomm or GPS10 chipset which takes forever to get a fix

Hi nuodi,
Planning to go speeding on the PLUS highway anytime soon? biggrin.gif

Actually the older garmin malsingmap has speedtrap indicators. I relied on them while driving to Penang. 160kmh n not a ticket!

XD

Hi fansoption,

R u using a task manager to close down all ur apps instead of minimising them? If u are, set those that u wanna launch fast (contacts, calendar...) as exceptions to the rule. They should launch without lag now.

Hi KLMC,

Wow... 2 months is just WAAAYYY too long. But sending in O2 and Dopod devices will take more or less the same amount of time. HP and Palm on the other hand is fast.

So I think it's d service centre's problem. After all, when the customer calls to screw, we'll call the shop n not d service centre.

If u wanna use it as a media player, I would suggest using Mortplayer. Since it has an equalizer setting, u can tweak it till the sound suits ur liking.

Hi jc79,

wah, u sound so exasperated! Errr... to me, PDA Expert staff always seem to be too busy to layan me whenever I go into their shop. So i prefer to go to Freshgear. Their deals are better and they do offer 2 years warranty instead of the standard 1.

P535 is a mid level PDAphone with GPS and an autofocus 2mp camera as its selling point. It is also the ONLY PDAPhone to use a SiRF Star III GPS chipset.

It's an excellent device

I don't use one but my friend does. Borrowed it for a week last time. Hahaha...

Sending SMS/MMS can be done with the Messaging application in the phone itself - no need 3rd party soft.

Phone functions very well. Calls are loud n clear. But I usually use a bluetooth handsfree.

Other than that, the phone is very stable. I didn't face any problems with the phone. GPS is very responsive!

Depends on how u use lorr... it's a good device!

Hi Dokidoki,

There's no difference between using high speed n normal speed on ur PDA. Even if there is, it's very slight n not significant.

The radio patch is meant to patch ur telephony radio and not the FM radio.

hi doki doki,

how new/old is ur battery? Actually that's quite normal. 2 - 3 % every hour still acceptable.

hi jc79 n doki doki,
no, word mobile cannot support docx format

hi tenable,
The distributor/service centre for Asus pdaphones is Phonestar. In terms of after sales service, its more or less the same with SIS (dopod) or Semitech (O2). So doesn't matter which model u buy, their after sales services suck.

In terms of spare parts available, Asus is gaining popularity in Malaysia, especially the P535 model. So they should have a supply of spareparts to service the existing users.

Generally, the P535 is less problem-prone as compared with other models frm other brands. It's a good choice if u ask me.

cheers

hi jc79,
Hmmm... how many subdirectories did u put for ur doc files? copying them to ur device's My Documents folder and see whether u can open or not. Otherwise, there may be some extension error.

As for ur ringtone, where did u adjust ur volume? There are 2 sliders on the volume slider. The one on ur right is for ur ringtone

Nah... higher capacity battery will make it last longer only. Won't spoil the device. Unless it's one of those China brand chie kai battery that explodes la. biggrin.gif

the "mAh" doesn't affect the amount of current going through the device.

Hi doki doki,
there's a version of GPS Proxy called the 2.2a made specially for Asus P535 coz the conventional one wouldn't run.

Try looking ard malsingmaps to download it and it should solve ur problem

Hi jc79,

I'm not using mapking2007. I'm using Handymap AI instead. No need to convert the files to-n-fro coz it supports all formats.

But to use it is all the same. As doki doki mentioned, just open the software and select the "GPS" portion of the "pie". Everything is automatic from there.

Then to set a destination, just tap on the big "Destination?" portion of the screen and input it there. It will automatically route u to it.

Currently there's no support for RMVB files on PPC's. The closest u'll get is by using Realone Player v1.1 which MAY be able to support SOME .RM files.

Hi fansoption,

I feel the same way as u dude. I assume ur using WM6? I didn't face this problem when I was using WM5 previously.

The default size is medium which is the balance between small but not TOO small of the today items and big but not TOO big of the messaging font size. Tipping the size of the fonts either to the left or the right will ruin this balance as u have seen.

To me, medium is still the best.
