hmm...sorry to hear that....maybe you could get it checked or replace by Asus....

and I think that you meant its the female connector on the your phone....its its the one that is being poked into..  tongue.gif  blush.gif  brows.gif

how bad is it.....hope you can still get it fixed by people in asus.....
*
oh ok - the female connector then ... sighh, it has become worse ..now cannot even charge even after wiggling it like before.... looks like i have to make a trip back down to fresh gear. So lucky i haven't disposed of my old phone yet....

@keropok > wait ya ... i'll ask those people what price it is at now.

yup fresh gear confirms - its now at 1999 - freebies depending on individual shops. Apparently it's for the upcoming pc fair. Dopod's price remains the same - 'cept they throwing in more freebies ( sd card/screen protectors ).

doh.gif awfully funny, how asus price is dropping.

29 pages from january till now, from the press release of the model till the current wm6 flash. Price of the unit from $2800 to current $1989 ( 3 weeks back).
So, which begs the questions, any problems anyone encountered with the phone so far? I have had a pretty bad experience with it - the USB jack broke off the phone - had to send it back to the importer ( phonestar ) to get the motherboard replaced. Got it back, but now very cautious with the plugging/unplugging of jacks....

yup upgraded to wm6 , takes more of the system memory. but boy the msn chats/voice clips thing in WM6 is great!

My unit was in the shop for 2 months , dunno whether its fresh gear or the local importer's fault.

The volume is a bit too soft isn't it? Can't really use it as a mp3 player unless you use a pair of headphones. The phone volume is bloody loud though, hurts your ears at max volume.

yeah WM6 msn voice clips/chat is bloody cool. quite fast too. So much better than poking at the keyboard/transcribers to chat

have u guys tried msn messenger on the pda ? very nice - ability to send voice clips.

note : syncing with your live account loads all the contacts from your hotmail get loaded into your phone. Or syncing and THEN deciding not to sync it near wipe out all your ocntacts ... backup before playing with it!

hey anyone have experienced this problem before?

under the wireless manager > wifi is gone ( bluetooth and phone still there )

now i have to turn on wifi by going into wifi manager ( settings/connections/wifi manager ) and turning on wifi from the menu

this is probably a WM6 problem rather than the asus phone problem .

well sucessfully installed the ftouchflo onto the asus , works like the youtube video above but i feel it kinda makes the thing ?slightly sluggish.
Anyway, for those who want to try it, here's the link - a simple 2 cab file installation.

hey anyone here using mapking with malsing maps ? i am bloody confused now - asus bundled mapking during a period , that gives u the unlock codes for their peninsular malaysia map - during that time malsing maps mapking version june also can be used. Now the december version of mapking malsing maps cant be used? ( is it locked by malsingmaps people or the mapking people)?

yeah - but at the download page it says this

" Peninsula Malaysia map in Mapking format for Windows Mobile PDAs. Requires original Mapking map licence of the same region..

To use the PPC version on Mapking 2007, just change the map extension from *.G10 to *.m7a "

so it means u need both the original mapking licence AND the malsing unlock code?

@synco >> dunwan to go to that barger's house ka? wink.gif

I just sifted thru malsingmaps site ..it would seem that mapking maps is unlocked ( not locked by those malsing people ) BUT u require a valid licence key for mapking ... i have the bundled one which works for the mapkings own peninsular malaysia map ( 2006) but when i put in the malsing current map (dec 2007 ) it asks for a new key .... headache ....

>> synco .. u not going for the 'other ' event EDK is setting up?

If you already have Mapking license for Malaysia, just download the mapking map file from malsingmaps.com. No need unlock code for mapking user because unlock code applied for Garmin user only.
*
yeah, thats what i gathered - but the bloody thing is asking for a unlock code after i have sucessfully regged it . Rolled back the PDA - trying a fresh install and see what happens
