SELANGOR has allocated funds to build a walkway connecting Bandar Puteri Puchong to Taman Wawasan Recreational Park in Puchong to improve access and promote a walking culture.
State local government, public transport and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han said this at the opening ceremony of the Rio City Interchange in Bandar Puteri Puchong.
He said discussions would be held with Bandar Puteri Puchong residents to gather input on the project which is expected to start by year end.
He also expressed concern over the disruptions on the Kelana Jaya LRT line.
He expressed hope that the service delays would be resolved.
He added that efficient public transportation was vital to reduce traffic congestion during peak hours.
Ng said Selangor government had allocated RM45mil for the Smart Selangor Bus service which connects to most LRT and MRT stations as it would help improve usage of public transportation.
