what is the point to discuss something we cannot get?

By your logic, most of the sports car forums close shop already...

QUOTE(bryon @ May 4 2016, 02:46 AM)
that is different
how many people can affford to pay a million for a car?
how many people can afford rm20
discussing this rm20 plan is like discussing a plan in USA which you cannot get

Why not discuss? People here are interested. Hold out some hope, however forlorn, that maybe something better (than what's currently available) is coming our way.

Today, for the first time, I can detect 502-153 on LTE Band 7 using my Galaxy S4.

Looks like they beat U Mobile to my area for 4G coverage.

Untethered internet only, I think.

I'm afraid Digi will copycat them in the near future...

Nope. RM10 for 20Gb internet data and 1000 minutes call and 1000 sms
*
Calls and SMS are beside the point here. I was talking about the nature of the data offered.

To be fair to Webe, some US and UK telcos also have tethered data restrictions.

3 in the UK used to offer true unlimited internet but found to their cost that a small minority abused that and clogged up the network.

Telcos shouldn't use the word Unlimited, but they do, because they want to attract a certain kind of user. So it's partly their fault too. (Example, Celcom with their IBH).

On the other hand we have users with an incredible sense of entitlement (just look at some posters in LYN). Outrage when telcos reduce from true unlimited to unlimited with FUP. Outrage when that FUP is reduced from 30GB to 10GB (and maybe less in future). Some LYN posters have moaned about 30GB being not enough (example of humblebragging, playing the victim, but actually boasting). We have posters here boasting about how they can circumvent any data cap / tethering restriction etc.

If I were a telco, I'd stay clear of the word Unlimited and always offer a finite amount for data, call minutes and SMS text. But I'm not, and the desire for more customers mean that telcos (round the world) will continue to abuse the word Unlimited.

Here is an FAQ page from T-Mobile USA about their "Unlimited" data and why they have tethering restrictions:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-23577

An extract this T-Mobile FAQ link:
    QUOTE
How are these users able to bypass T-Mobile's systems for metering data tethering limits? Which special apps are they using to defeat the limits?
These customers download third-party apps or root their phones to mask tethering usage and steal data in excess of what their plan provides. T-Mobile has developed technology that can detect these people who choose to break our terms and conditions. This is just one more thing we’re doing to make sure that users everywhere have the best possible experience on T-Mobile.

What is T-Mobile doing to deter users from bypassing the Smartphone Mobile HotSpot limits?
We're warning these customers that they're violating our terms and conditions. If they continue to break the rules at any time, they’ll lose access to our Unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data plan, and we’ll move them to a limited 4G LTE plan. That way, we can enforce our terms and conditions and protect the network experience for all our customers.

Someone in this thread mentioned that Malaysians have low class mentality. That's just BS. There are network abusers and over-entitled consumers all around the world, but they are a small minority.
