Heya,
Just wondering - to cut down on loading times, is it possible to download the DVD game onto the HDD and run the game from there?
Will also minimize on the DVD drive wear as well as the amount of heat produced.
Cheers.

the xbox has an intelligent cache system it seems. it will d/load parts of the 3 most played/recently played games into the hdd cache to help with loading. certain games have codes to clear the hdd cache, i think oblivion has this feature. also some games dont cache to the hdd at all depends on the progamming team so: just play 3 games and finish them 1st instead of rotating them unnecesarily This post has been edited by acougan: Jan 3 2007, 05:23 PM

I'm only playing Oblivion. So, I don't have the play-too-many-games problem (how can anyone who plays Oblivion have time to play anything else??? I don't even have time to sleep anymore. ) Even clearing the cache for Oblivion doesn't help that much with the loading up of areas. Thanks.

Recently my box has been making some ... odd noises. When the dvd is spinning sometimes I will hear light 'tak-tak-tak' sound as if something in the drive was loose and bumping around. Is this normal? I didn't notice it before, but then it's only recently when I play late night that I turn down volume that's why can notice the sound of the machine itself ...
