Hello Everyone.

Im planning to install Mesh Wifi for my house but not too sure which mesh wifi system to use. I've looked at TP-LINK DECO M5 and D-LINK COVR C1203.

Any recommendations or experience from users here?

Since the price is about the same, I'm eyeing the D-LINK as it states that its supported by TIME.

Hi, both also supports TIME, with even PPPOE enabled.

Alternatively you could try latest Airties AIR4830 Wifi MESH from TIME, the drawback is you still have to connect to a router... it's cheap , I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention the price here, but it's approx 300myr cheaper than both Tplink's & Dlink's.

Thanks.

Price difference of all 3 are within RM50, so Its not much of a dent. Im comparing on 3 wifi nodes each, btw. Now, since all 3 is supported by TIME, I really need a recommendation. Im not too fond of AirTies cause it still uses the current router.

Hello Everyone.

As per several post before, I got the TP-LINK Deco M5 Mesh Wifi Router. I understand how Mesh Wifi works and that you sacrifice some speed for coverage. Needless to say now my entire house is covered. However, speed deteriorated quite abit.

Doing a speed test right in front of the Main Deco Router gives me 100MBPS down and up consistently. However, speed test at the Deco Mesh Nodes around my house only gives 30-40MBPS inconsistently. Sometimes (rarely) I get 100MBPS at the nodes. I wonder if its because my devices doesn't aggressively connect to the closest nodes.

Multiple test gives the same results. I did another test where I did the speed test at a node and got only 30-40MBPS. After a few hours, in which I did not move the device at all and did the test again, I got back 100MBPS.

I'm not complaining though. I need the coverage more than speed. Just that feel kind of wasted cause I'm paying for 100MBPS afterall.

I just wondered if anyone here knows how to fix this speed problem. Maybe there's some setting I'm not aware of.

Are you connected to 5GHz?
*
There's only 1 SSID visible on my devices. If using Wifi Analyzer I can see 6 SSID, all using same name. Apparently the Deco will automatically connect my devices (or vice versa) to the strongest signal.

Hi bro. Do test out the speed in the room and the furthest away from the Deco Set.

Wanna know whether speed is more stable when using Bluetooth to pair per set. Can get full signal but I don't know about the speed.

Do let me know after the results.
Buy high end router or Mesh Wi-Fi whole home router
Signal low on 5G is a problem for us.

Your plan upgraded to 1Gbps?

Thanks.

I got the Deco Set awhile back. I gotta say I'm happy with it. Speed tests at the main node itself 500mbps+- while at the other nodes consistent at 50-70mbps. After getting the Deco, my entire house has no dead zones at all. Of course, you sacrifice some speed for coverage but overall, quite happy with it. All speed test via wifi, btw.

Waiting for your review.

That's good as this deco support AP Mode.

Do let me know quality after you bought ya.
Hi. Thanks for the info.
Which deco did you use?

You're able to get full signal around the house?

Thanks.

I'm using Deco M5 only. I'm getting around 70% signal strength at the farthest reach of my house while still being under the roof/indoors. Used to be totally no signal at some places due to design of my house.

I have 3 units, each positioned bottom, mid and top floors.
