Yea, I get close to 300mbps if the speedtest server is capable.
You only mention your router, but who knows what device you are using?
One thing I can tell you is that even if you have N 450mbps capable device, you won't get even close to 200mbps over wifi.
To get more or less stable 300mbps via wifi, use AC1750 or better router and device.

Pardon me for being an airhead. XD
Here is the equipment that I am using:

Wireless Router : (TP link) TL-WR1043ND
Wireless USB Adapter : (TP link) TL-WN8200ND
Modem : Huawei Time default modem

I have a media PC connected to the router via LAN cable
and a PC for games etc etc in my room connected via wireless (thus the TL-WN8200ND)
the router is advertised up to 450 Mbps and the adapter up to 300 Mbps
however both speedtested via TIME server approx 60ish dl and 70ish ul
so i am wondering why i could get the speed as per stated.

is there something wrong with my setup? because it is a single band as per mention by other forum dweller?
if i want to fix it? how?
should i need to acquire new equipment to get the maximum speed. what should they be?
my budget is up to 1k (inclusive of modem, adapter, router)
please do recommend me the goods. thanks in advance

Hi Mavric,

Don't waste time with E1200, its hardware barrier just won't let you increase your performance..

Try to purchase a Router either from the Selfcare Portal or from outside computer store... make sure its Gigabit WAN/LAN. For current & upcoming bandwidth optimization concerns, get at least an AC1200 Router.
At the same time, make sure your receiving devices (Eg. Laptop, Mobiles, Tablets etc) all are able to support at least Dual Band, better if it supports Wifi 802.11AC.

If you need Router placement advise for your unit, kindly buzz me.

Thanks.

should i follow this chart for router ranking?
if so TP link Archer C8 would be the top recommendation right
