New place is a small condo so using the stock archer router which seems not bad able to achieve full speeds even at the farthest room with few walls blocking.
Really hope it’s just some billing issue if the price is around 140-150 still acceptable 180 is abit too high

Old place ( Penang) using a MiRouter 3 pro, connected to a 8 Port switch for 3 PC's and another router in a farthest bedroom cause unable to reach my bed    so get a dedicated router for my bedroom ahaha Mi router 2 < using this before upgrade.

Weird thing is that in Penang my Ping directly from router for speedtests are around 5-9 ms , while my other place in Damansara pings are in the 1-3ms range, weird....

How you get to redeem the free router? Any tips?

I do redeemed the free router as I was using 4 year old model TP-LINK router (N750). But TIME gave me the lousy Cisco router when I signed up with them which I quickly put it in my storage room. Maybe their system shows that I was using that lousy router all these years haha.

The new router boot up time is super slow (takes about 3-5 minutes to initialize?) compared to my N750 router. But so far I do not see any disconnection and I do appreciate the higher WIFI bandwith.

Redeemed mine a couple of weeks back and got it installed last Friday.

The tp-link ac1200 is definitely inferior to my current Asus ac68u (AP) or UBNT edgerouter-x (wired router) of course. Have set it up as my 2nd AP in the study room.

Not sure the old or new logo. I just got this C1200 2 weeks ago. Once it fully initialized, i dont experience disconnection through LAN as I typically use my desktop for my internet usage.
I leave mostly everything at auto. I just change the WIFI ID and the DNS.

Wifi coverage is maybe 50% of the ac68u, good enough for my study room and 2nd bedroom. Now can have 5GHz all over at home.

Not sure about boot time, didn't monitor.

All my wireless devices are 5Ghz clients - yep, more than 100mbps on my 300mbps line.
