No drilling or hole?

Just one small hole in my store room so the cable can connect to the modem.

mine was installed without any drilling, it was held against the lower part of the wall with a holder.

May I know which type of holder is that? My landlord has warned against any damage to the wall surface.

Mine was installed without drilling, the technician routed the fiber cable through the ceiling.
*
How do they secure the cable in place on the ceiling?

I've finally got a proper broadband service for my condo which is being rented out on a short let basis. It's the 100Mb service, the slowest of the fastest offered by Time...but it flies compared to my old unifi service.

So, it has been time immemorial that Time is available at my condo but my previous attempts some years back, to subscribe to the service has been met with "After New Year la ...3 or 4 weeks" Some of the other Time sales contact numbers I got from the management office just didn't bother to call back. Such front line service troubled me and I didn't bother until recently.

The price of the 100Mb service being the same as the old unifi 5 Mb service was something I could not resist. My condo has just been renovated and just as it became ready for occupation last week, I got a last minute message last Tue that someone was interested to rent it in 2 days . I had no internet connection as I said bye bye to unifi during the renovations. What should I do?

On that same Tuesday night, I looked for help on lowyat - thanks guys for all the information that you post here - it's a life saver. At random, I decided to get in touch with one of the time distributors (Thanks a lot Yeapch01) and not expecting much, I proceeded to register with him. I must have asked him a dozen times - when can it be installed???

To cut a long story short, the installation was done that same week on Saturday morning, so my tenants did not miss out on that much surfing on the net. Done in 3 days...not bad huh?

The freelance installer guy was efficient and on time but a little bit condescending. Otherwise, the whole Time experience has been good and I look forward to consistent speedy connection.

Anyone has any stories to swap. Btw, sorry about being so long winded.

No worries, standard Installation we don't use wire holder... that means there will be no nailing on the wall...

Minor drillings might be needed in order to route the fibre cable into your unit.

Feel free to send me some pics of your unit, we will be able to advise you with the best route.

Thanks.

Just got Time Fibre 100 Mbps, so for looks good.
However I'm not really impressed with the D-link DIR-850L router.

I have my own TP-Link Archer C7 router and want to use it instead. I had UniFi before this.

The tech guy who installed told me that all I should have to do is to change the PPPoE username and password and then I should be good to go.

Unfortunately I cannot connect. If I switch back to the D-link router (with the almost no settings) it just works...
Time Support just refers me to the manufacturer for support instead of giving me info enough for me to solve it on my own.

Anyone else in here using TP-Link with their Time Fibre who cares to share?

Hi Nymi, did you manage to get your TP-link router to work with TIME ?

I bought a TP-Link P5 (AC1900) router and wanted to use it for TIME fibre too instead of the D-link DIR-850L router, however after i entered the PPPoE username and password to the TP-link P5 and connect the modem to it, not able to connect to the internet. (Even tried reboot the modem and tp link router).

When i connect the modem cable back to the D-link DIR-850L router, the internet works.

Guys, did i miss some setting somewhere in the TP-link router ? confused.gif

Yes i double checked on the PPPoE ID and password and they are correct.

LAN 1 of the ONU ??
I connected the cable from modem to the "Internet" port (blue) of tp-link router. Is that correct?

From the Lan 1 on the ONU aka Modem to the LAN blue on the Wi-Fi router.

Make sure you have to put ID as XXX@timebb.
