need input from existing TIME users, as I plan to switch from MAXIS to TIME.
MAxis = 10Mbps
Time = 100Mbps
PRice = RM129/month, same for both

Performance & stability?
*
Hi, once you use TIME, you will never regret.

TIME doesn't perform P2P throttling and block torrents.

Thanks.

When TIME gonna announce?

It's been already 1 month since TM announce the news about speed upgrade.

TIME, please don't keep delaying. Waiting for your good news.

Reduce price OK, I will take the speed upgrade too if have.

Using 100Mbps which is enough for me as we don't downloading a lot of things.
We mainly stream YouTube and Live TV. We are a family of five people. All don't gaming only streaming.

Nope, until 800Mbps only.

If 1Gbps then have to wait for long time.

Thanks.

Now TIME not good already.
Last time they announce the surprise immediately, now have to wait almost a month.

I'm waiting for TIME to announce their new surprises.
Unlimited calls or Boost Feature consider good.
Speed upgrade and reduce price consider is the best.
Speed upgrade and provide new router to existing and new subscriber also the best.

Provide coverage to Landed is even better.

Thanks.

Anyone tried the TP-Link AC1900 router? How's the performance?
*
Hi, Archer C9 user here which is AC1900.
I'm using Archer C9 V2 which is the old TP-Link logo.

The performance quite good with 100Mbps.
Able to achieve 100Mbps via both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
2.4GHz set with 40MHz Bandwidth.

Thanks

You're welcome. You're using 100Mbps?

Maybe you can get the TP-Link AC2300 for the future if got upgrade.
Or you can get TP-Link AC3150.

Thanks.

Yes. I am using 100Mbps at the moment.

AC2300 and AC3150 is too heavy for me now as I may under utilize it. I am not a heavy gamer and I download some light stuff only.

Coverage is important to me.

Can AC1900 support up to 800Mbps?

Thanks.
*
Archer C9 coverage quite good except 5GHz WiFi.
I'm able to get full signal in my room over 2.4GHz and 2 bars over 5GHz WiFi.
If your laptop able to support 40MHz then you're able to achieve full speed if not congested.
I set my 2.4GHz to 40MHz and 5GHz to 80MHz

Archer C9 can support up to 500Mbps on 5GHz WiFi.
1Gbps on Gigabit LAN.

To get 1Gbps on WiFi, the best suggestion is AC5400.

Thanks.

Thanks for the information. If the coverage is not too strong for 5GHZ then I have a standby unit RE-450 with me which I am currently using right now. No issues on that smile.gif

So far I think maximum 300Mbps is enough for me (although I am using 100Mbps currently). So I think this router Archer C9 still serves me well.
*
You can get the AC2300 as SilentVampire told you.
Now it is cheaper without 6% GST.
Get it before SST comes in.

I bought for RM 595 last time with 6% GST.
Now OOKAS sell for below RM 595 for TP-Link AC2300.
TP-Link AC2300 is using Wave 2 as Archer C9 is using Wave 1. There is a huge difference within both.
TP-Link AC2300

Thanks.

Hi,

My friend currently used the Time + Astro IPTV.
Lately he found the internet seem not so stable. He did call helpdesk and they advise to change the router modem cause it might caused from the router modem. Is changing the router modem will help to stable the wireless internet connection?

Do you have any recommended modem for it? Need to have stronger signal which existing wireless signal is low. Modem location at hall but when reach room, the signal very weak and keep disconnecting.
*
Hi, only the router can be changed.

The ONU is fixed.
Changing new router will fix the issue.
I'm using TP-Link Archer C9.
Before that use stock router, in the room weak signal and weak speed.

State your friend's budget on new router.
And also which plan that he use.

Thanks.

Me too.

Hope TIME upgrade 10X like Unifi.
And also TIME beat TM Unifi like last time when upgrade up to 500Mbps.

Higher speed, I will take. I'm happy to accept it.
Can stream 4K with high speed Internet.

BTW, 100Mbps user here.

i think the following is more feasible.

100 -> 300
300 -> 600
500 -> 1G
*
Hi, that should be OK.
Let see what TIME can give.
300Mbps also enough for me.
If 500Mbps, I will take it.

Hi FusionXY and jjj2,

Thanks for advise.

Not sure what plan he took, when I do the speed test it seem about 30MB.
Current router was bundled from Time which is ZTE ZXHN H298N.
The house size is about 1460sf and budget about the router is about RM500.
SilentVempire had intro the Asus RT-AC1300UHP seem not bad. Any advise and recommendation?

Thanks in advance.
*
You're welcome.

Last time I also use old crappy ZTE router.
Last time use ZTE router, signal and speed too weak.
Asus also can.
I can suggest you to get the TP-Link Archer C9 from OOKAS.
I'm using C9 and the coverage is quite good. Performance also good.
No regret after switching from ZTE to TP-Link.
100Mbps user here.

Thanks.

C9 is quite dated though, and the firmware is from 2016. It is still working very well, don’t get me wrong, but the C2300 is a better choice, with the C2300 being slightly expensive, but well worth the extra cost. You should recommend the C2300 and try the C2300 yourself.
*
Ya. I know. As for him the budget is around RM500.

Will wait for AC2300 price to go down.
AC2300 was launched for a year only.
I'm hoping to try the AC2300 but we bought C9 2 years back only which is still quite. If I can sell the C9 then is quite good to get the AC2300.

Thanks.

Me too because of the design of the router.
Only this model that can stand whereas other router are sitting.
Do let me know if you need configuration with this router.
I'm happy to assist you with this C9. IPv6 able to work when enable in settings.

Fair enough, if it is still working well, no point changing.

Will change once my router cacat and totally cannot use at all.

Depends on what you want. Some demand:

1.) Same Price But Double Bandwidth
2.) Reduce Price Maintain Speed
3.) Reduce Price & Upgrade Speed
*
Besides reduce price. Also need to remain the same price for existing and new customers.
New customers pay more than existing.

Most probably will choose number 1 and 3.
I'm not sure whether they will reduce the speed as existing and new customers pay at different price.

Thanks.

QUOTE(bonson @ Aug 24 2018, 05:33 PM)
Ya, I believe because of the router out of performance and incurred this issues.

I had checked the C9 (AC1900) at Ookas, currently selling price RM505 and RT-AC1300 is RM409. Performance compare with RT-AC1300, the C9 wifi signal have better coverage. As SilentVempire advised, the C9 model firmware update might a matter in future due to not a new product. Both having pros and cons here .

Thanks for your advise. I will job down the concern and let him decide. C2300 I believe is over his budget, so will not consider. With advise from here, I will put TP-Link C9 and Asus RT-AC1300UHP in the list for him. My own view on these product, if not focus on the wifi signal, AC1300 is more interesting to me. It might because is updated product with new features provided.

Few years back, myself have some experience with TP-link product which is not so reliable in their firmware feature and performance. Im not sure is the product selected or TP-link technology is not stable at that time. I have difficulty to configure the UNIFI and the setting is done will change sometime even I had save it. Performance wise and the signal is nothing special after changed the new router, even thought the brochure/box info mentioned the feature and performance how good and reliable. My friend was selected a router which cost around RM200-RM250 that time, so not sure because of the lower range product matter or other issue. Or maybe need to wait the new firmware update to resolve it. So end up I need to teach my friend if encounter the setting changed problem, how to redo it back. After this case, I had long time no involving the technical work with technology. With you all experience and recommendation in the thread, TP-Link seem like under reliable brand list. So I will put in the recommendation list as well.
*
You're welcome bro. Been using my C9 for 2 years already
Coverage quite good. Speed also good.
You will never regret once you get the C9.

If can top up, get AC2300.

Thanks. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
