Dear Broif better get from time online, they come install directly? I suggest you better get it thru Time selfcare, it would be cheaper and easier to get support form Time customer services. Moreover the intstallation on site is free. Thanks |

Wow! It's like I'm psychic!
Right after I mentioned yesterday about overcapping ports so as to be able to underpromise and overdeliver, it seems that TIME overcapped my father-in-law's 100Mbps package. It is sustaining around 108Mbps via LAN at the moment, and using the equipment provided, as well. That said, I probably shouldn't be too surprised. I've been told that back when the packages were 4/8/15Mbps, TIME were frequently capping the ports at 5/10/20Mbps, at least here in the PJ area. |

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Apr 8 2016, 03:23 PM) I'm going to conjecture that, for the lucky people at least, the ports for the new packages are actually capped at 120,350 and 600Mbps then. I will probably try to verify that at some stage as soon as I can ask a broad enough cross-section of subscribers locally. It may just be that we're living in the vicinity of some TIME senior management personnel or major shareholders, and we got the spillover effects. Technical probably doesn't want to piss them off Here's hoping mine will be similarly overcapped when I subscribe. This post has been edited by tritonite: Apr 8 2016, 03:38 PM |

some sharing on WIFI AC... I tried the TPLINK T4u, found out that the speed can go > 220mbps/200mbps with no prob, just maybe DC...(driver issue)
For Asus PCE-68, it will connect at 280mbps/300 and it will drop to 100mbps.... ( still driver issue!) So, better use LAN cable... |

No random disconnects, consistent at least 200mb up and down. Cable will definitely be better but not practical for me.. Happy so far, it was a simple rm130 dongle solution. For Asus PCE-68, it will connect at 280mbps/300 and it will drop to 100mbps.... ( still driver issue!) So, better use LAN cable... This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Apr 8 2016, 05:31 PM |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Apr 8 2016, 06:30 AM) I don't think it's so much about being thankful and accepting. More about setting my own expectation more realistically. Not even Google Fiber in the US gives users actual 1024 megabits per second as advertised, I believe. Agree, we have to be realistic. Afterall, we're not paying enterprise-price for some 99.99% uptime SLA/SLG.DSLReports-GoogleFiber My own expectation for Time's fibre is 90-95% of the advertised speed. And after seeing quite a few people in Lowyat forum claiming to reach speeds of 100+, 300+ and 500+, makes me even more convinced I should not settle down for 70% average. |

If anyone here could assist me, I live in Cheras (specifically Taman Connaught). |
