Getting the new router today, and planning to upgrade to cat7 cables. Do I need to change the cable from modem to router to cat7 as well?

my condo all cabling from ONU to router is sealed behind wall.. so can only change the cable from router to end-user device.

Check under the router the password will be located at the bottom, the password is TIMEXXXX , XXXX being the MAC address of the router

M on 500mbps for about 4months. Complaint many times and technicians came in all total about 5 times and none of them is able to fix my problem as I only managed to get around 160mbps download and 450mbps upload via 5Ghz WiFi. One of the technician that came even re-terminate the fiber optic socket but still doesn’t help and end up I give up.

Since last week I test speed indeed increase to 400+mbps for both DL and UL but not constant. After seeing this thread I just realized that all these while I have been using my iPhone 7+ & 8+ to do the Speedtest. Just now I use MacBook Air to do the test via 5GHz WiFi and got 414mbps DL while on both my iPhone with 220mbps DL.

I check the TIME apps on my iPhone but still can’t see the package as it’s only written home broadband. I m at bukit Jalil but I haven’t experience any speed upgrade. Btw I am using AC1200 as main router and Asus RT-AC1300UHP as wireless AP. Wonder when can I get my upgrade.

Change to a better router and you will get better speed, and your device must support 3x3 MIMO to have a close chance of achieving close to the turbo speed.

Yup that Asus is the one I changed. Btw wat is 3*3 MIMO?? I guess maybe all these while my complaint of low speed is due to the supplied AC1200? But I did swap to Asus and tried but speed is still the same
